Hope I'm right with this, if not please remove :-\
Happy 8th birthday to CBF.
Thanks to Keith and the rest of the 'bored' for doing such a fantastic job of keeping the forum what it is and for all the hard work that goes into making it so fabulous.
May the pleasure & help it gives to so many never end!!!!!
From Diane :)

Blimey Diane, thanks for the reminder - I remember 3rd September 2003, I set up the CBF after realising there were other British people interested in Calis - and really only because with every 'new' person I met, they brought another and it was really getting difficult to chat with quite a few people with email alone - and of course it meant passing and receiving info back and forth. There was *nothing* on the internet about Calis then - the Hotel Idee had a website but as I remember only in German and that was about it. My friend Terry (from Turkeyvilla, known to quite a few members here) helped set it all up and the doors opened today, 2003. It was like having a party and stressing that nobody would turn up..!
Eight years on, over 8,500 members have at some stage turned up and made this website what it is, and it must have something as 750,000 pages are viewed every single month now. I'm proud of CBF and defend it like my own child :) - I often say I haven't ever found a discussion forum like it, and that is perhaps a compliment to me, but I meant it to be to every member, and especially to everyone who jumps onboard our various charity games and support the great causes that have their forums on here. On this special day a special thanks to the wonderful mod team, mods present and past that is, and to two people who have saved me from suicide on numerous occasions when the whole forum falls apart and I need the knowledge and support of a friend - without Steve Redding and JohnF I couldn't imagine how I'd dig the forum out of the dark holes it sometimes gets stuck in!
And the oscar goes to... :D

Happy Birthday CBF - congrats on a fantastic site - its invaluable for information and ideas for the out of town excursions...
Advice, information and ideas freely exchanged with those that have a common love of Calis and the surrounding areas.
Heres to the next 8 years....
-
And it's congratulations and happy birthday from me too!
Thank you to Keith and all involved in keeping this site going over the years and making sure we can all get our daily fix of Calis - not to mention all the information, ideas, laughs and sometimes tears. :)
-
congratulations, I feel I owe such a lot to this site. Not sure I would have been brave enough to move here without it, so thank you so much for a truly life changing site xx

Happy 8th birthday CBF. Brilliant source of info for all. A place to 'dip' into for banter, and discuss serious issues. The great thing about CBF is that although you don't necessarily agree with what is being said, you can put your point across and someone out there will agree.
Many happy returns of the day, and heres to the next eight.
-
I think about the number of people on here that I have met, of which there are hundreds - some became very good friends too. If CBF hadn't happened, how many would I actually have met...not anything approaching hundreds I'm sure.
-
The first 20 CBF members (3rd-5th September 2003) :D

Jimrb26 is now jimbo - he must have lost his original details. I got him on to this place as he's the co owner of our property.
bwfcsue is a facebook friend of mine and a Bolton fan. She still pops in to look from time to time I think.
-
Neil Coultas is an odd one - he joined on day 2 (4th September) as our member number 10, visited again 3 days later, decided it wasn't for him and never ever came back - our longest ever absent member, 7 years and 361 days since last visit :D
-
He'll notice a difference in the exchange rate and the price of Efes if he logins in now. ;)

I wish garry Carr would come back. The most amusing man ever Ha Ha ha
