Over the past eighteen months or so there has been so many New restaurants opened up in Ovacik especially along the main road havn't tried them all in fact no where near. Do you have a reccomendation for an "old" and a "New" eatery in thr Ovacik area.
-
My recommendation is a reastaurant within a hotel. The hotel Sea Breeze Apart Hotel.Food is great. The tables are set in the garden during summer, prices are very good, even the alcohol compares with any of the bars.,English and Turkish food, pide oven.Liver and bacon with onion gravyfantastic and best sausage and mash around,(better say in my opinion in case I get shot down in flames)fish and chips not bad either. Some of the best steaks my husband has had in this area.
Chinese Hong Kong which is now in Hisaronu again great food and very very reasonable.
-
I have only tried a few in Ovacik and have to agree with Milliemars re the Sea Breeze being excellent food though it is quite often very quiet in there.
4 Seasons is our favorite because they have a varied menu, we have never had a bad meal and the staff ensure you are well looked after and Muhammet often puts entertainment on so there is normally a few in there even at the start and end of season. Third choice for us is probably the Teras Bar as its local to us and food is always good in there.
-
We like quiet especially in the season, living here as you can imagine we do like to escape sometimes from the hustle and bustle lol........
-
We are only half timers also in the season and the best restaurant we use is on our balcony and the chef is the best,he cooks Turkish mostly, some indian masala's, little chinese the odd Thai fish dish, and some english dishes and the best is its not open to the public. :) ;) However we do like to eat locally even in season when F & F are here.and thought the subject may help others who only come on holls. 4 Seasons for new and Abrekababra ok maybe not central Ovacik but consistantly good, food menu to suit most and no hassle, over the past ten years when it was known as the Kingfisher. Not to forget the Turtle Bar Restaurant, good food nice family and very local to us.
-
The Four Seasons without doubt.
-
Serdars (on main drag next to Ay Barbers/market)is easily our favourite,it is a real family run business, yes the menu is simple but the food is excellent, and a point to make is that they make the best chips in Turkey, and the3 meatballs are proper too. ten out of ten for Stefan and family.

The 3 Cheers Ovacik (not Cheers in Hisaronu) for top Turkish food. Ugur is a real Turlish food enthuisiast and it is as "authentic" as we've found in tourist land. We do use the Yengec for good food with more than a nod to british tastes ... more "Turklish" food ... but high quality Turklish food ! (and I don't mean fish fingers etc !)
-
Four Seasons gets my vote....just love the beef and aubergine kebab!
-
Four Seasons and Sea Breeze are definate contenders of the older restaurants, new ones tried this year that we rate are Wishing Well and Yengec.....(both close to one another near the Mirage)
-
Yes, excellent food and prices at the `3 Cheers` I agree... but its not always about just `the food` when judging restaurants,.If only you could pick up and place `3 cheers` in a quieter location ...its a massive problem with most of the Restaurants in Ovacik on that main road I am afraid... the continual traffic noise at night !! :o :( It killed the `3 Cheers` for me :-\.
Unfortunately in Hisaronu we too have a `noise` problem in many ateas ... not traffic noise... but mega loud music . However, nowadays, we tend to seek out the quieter backwaters ( yes there are a few ) of Hisaronu, or visit selected chill out restaurants in Kaya [^]
-
Yes , the `Yengec` :-) we have heard about this Restaurant, and sooooo many good all round reviews about it ... we cant wait to try this restaurant, its next on our list but we were told one must pre book.

Slewth. Now you have stated the obvious :) Any recommendations?
-
Sorry :) gave up recommending restaurants years ago...its all personal, but as I said, with me/ us its not always about the food... its a combination of location, staff, background music, price, food, food selection etc.
-
you need to give about 5 days notice for the Yengec.....and its not right on the main road, but down a quieter lane, so not noisy either :) a winner all round......
-
Psssst. Don't tell Sleuth !

Just came back on the 22nd after two weeks the four seasons is a favourite of ours but we never ate there this time the stink of sewage on the road just outside was awful and it was there for 14 days, driving past in the jeep was close enough. The four seasons and others near by must of lost a lot of trade.

Ovacik2 ?? ... In answer to your question to me, here`s one to go on with that ticks almost all the boxes. Try Gunay`s Garden ( Izelda Restaurant) in Kaya.... expect to pay slightly more than the restaurants in Ovacik and Hisaronu but you should not be disappointed. As I said it almost ticks all the boxes 8/9 out of 10 score I give it :-)
-
good restaurants with no directions, we need direction go out again in three weeks thanks.

First went to Izela last year and again this year excellent location the food good but very Mediterranean/English. Also tried the buffet Kahvalti but there are better available. Just our opiion.
-
we had a really nice meal in the Red Wok on Sunday night.
fantastic value too, 10 TL for prawn crackers, soup and main course.
was pleasantly suprised by the quality, it is near the new azda opposite the bakery.

We went to Gunays Garden in Kaya for a couple of days last weekend for a special treat. It was excellent and the food and wine in their restaurant Izela was delicious. The atmosphere and music were soft and elegant, perfect for a special occasion.
