Christies in London are having a sale today 7th October of Art & Textiles of The Islamic & Indian Worlds Including Works From The Collection of The Late Simon Digby. There are 107 Turkish lots and the estimated prices are pretty amazing. If you follow the link and have a look it will give you an idea just what to search for when in Turkey. I don't know a lot about Turkish Antiques, but at these estimated prices (which may go a lot higher) I am willing to learn.
When you go to the pages, look on the right and side for "Origin" and click into "Turkey" for the 107 Turkish items.

If this link does not work, simply type "Turkey" in the search box at the top right hand side of the Christie's page ;)

Jacqui - your posts are usually about saving money.

Well Jim, you could look at these items as an investment. A lot of clever people are saying that Antiques are better than money in the Bank. Example... Scottish Brooch I bought at Auction (Strichen) 15 years ago £12.00. Have been offered between £500.00 and £800.00 for it. However, it's not for sale.

I was aware of an English lady who lived in the Fethiye area with a rug/mat/carpet worth £20,000 more than her apartment.
