Title: Disagreement on Savings
Post by: Scunner on October 13, 2011, 15:40:09 PM
I recently bought a 19" Tv for £90 on t'internet. It as a dvd player and was £145 before the price reduction.

As I understand it, I just saved us £55.
As Mrs Scunner understands it, I just spent £95.

Who is right?

:D

did you buy it because you needed one or because it was cheap?

Your more in need of a calculator than a TV - how come the £90 turned into £95

My father died when I was quite young, but she told me a story about him and "savings". If she came home from the town centre and said "I have saved £20 today" he would simply say "Show it to me". Her: "Show you what?" Him: "Show me the £20". I understand that Mrs S does not delve into the forum which is probably just as well for you.

Delete "she" in first sentence and insert "my Mother". Thank you Baz and PC.

It's an argument you'll never win.

You bought it, you wasted £95.

If she'd bought it, she'd have saved £55.

The first Mrs KKOB was forever coming home laden with shopping bags and telling me how much she'd saved me. I couldn't afford to keep her in the end.
