Title: Buying Gold as in Investment
Post by: nichola on October 16, 2011, 16:23:57 PM
The amount of people here in Turkey buying Gold as opposed to depositing their hard earned money in a bank has risen fourfold.

The way things are going globally it might be one alternative to seriously consider for anyone interested in preserving and protecting the value of the few quid they have put by.

I have had a look online about how to buy Gold but am none the wiser.

Does anyone out there have any relevant knowledge, experience or links they would like to share  :)

Or if you bank with hsbc you can by gold shares online they have made 35% in the last 10 months
And about 70% over 2 years but be careful as a lot of people think it may now drop

Yapi Kredi also provides the option to buy and sell gold online.

We had some but sold it just before the big boom started two years ago :(

I am not sure now is the time to buy gold, being so expensive. But those who bought years ago have really scored now.

Thanks for your replies and advice - my thoughts about gold are that it is something real and concrete like land and property so at least it will still exist when paper money becomes worthless  ;) not that I am sure what good it will be then either as you can't eat it, can't live in it...  :)
