Gave me the creeps personally but he has died, aged 84.

Oh thats's sad. Wonder what will happen to his lovely wee cottage in the heart of Glencoe! It's a wee beauty.
-
Hows about that then. ;)
Gave me the creeps as well.
-
Yep gave me the willies too, something not right about him. Now we have the good old British media getting itself in a 24 hour news frenzy about what a great man he was, he wasn't particularly, but they'll be building him as the new St. James.
-
Aw c'mon, he did a lot for charity in his day.
-
The guy was clearly an eccentric but in my opinion he had a big personality and a big heart.
-
Odd,flamboyant maybe but he raised over £40 m for charity, in my book
his heart was in the right place. RIP Sir Jimmy.
-
I've waited all my life for a celebrity to die so that I could post a joke about them............Now, Jim Has Fixed It For Me !!
Jimmy Saville's family are naturally saddened at his passing but they have been greatly comforted by the offer from Cash4Gold to pay for his cremation.
How's about that then Guys 'n Girls ? ;)
-
Now then,now then.....
-
JJB sports is still open, just enough time to go and cobble together a Jimmy Savile outfit for Haloween.
-
A regular sight in these parts seen jogging round our local park( though not for a while) and often seen driving his roller round the north Leeds 'burbs'. Still got his autograph somewhere as he used the same hairdresser as my mum years ago! A true celeb who's legacy lives on in his charity work for the Leeds General Infirmary etc.

Have read a few comments on here and i am a bit confused at what some remarks are relating to, is anyone implying he was convicted of anything,i,e child molester, peodophile, etc, as far as i remember him going back to 1st compering top ofthe pops, then several tv shows, what was wrong with the guy. seems were back to allegations and facts again
-
I have convicted him of giving me the willies.

Des you are right about allegations and facts, although there are a lot of nasty rumors on the t'interweb about Saville, and as far as I know there is not an ounce of truth in them. However, there was something about that man that made my skin crawl, can't put it down to anything in particular, there was just something about him that was not right.
-
I know more than one ounce..
-
I mentioned on Facebook a while back about this era of Radio - how the hell were the coolest you could find for Britain's number 1 pop radio station the likes of Saville, Blackburn, Freeman and Hamilton? Photos show no cool whatsoever - a collection of awkward, strained humoured, bland combovers and freaks.
-
Not a fan then ?
-
I hear that the doctors still can't agree on the time of death:-
Now
Then
Now
Then
Now
Then.......
-
Never trust a man who has a drawer hidden in the arm of his chair.
-
His name was actually SaVILE not Saville. A good play on words.

Jacqui - you have said that on here and elsewhere. WHEN are you going to tell us what it is.
-
Come on Jacqui, put up or shut up.
-
Agreed Alan...Jacqui, if you've got something to say then please just say it. One of the Nolan sisters has said he touched her up when they were performing on TOTP...is that the kind of thing you're talking about? If it is...why wait till the guy is dead before saying it??
-
I agree entirely janmack (as I posted previously).
Come on Jacqui you started this by saying you knew much more so let's hear what it is
-
JS always made me feel a little uncomfortable too, I admired the work he did for charity and felt that it was well intended; however, I remember talk and hushed tones quite a few decades back of stories regarding the so called 'honourable' Ted Heath and the sacked MP Jeremy Thorpe, and a friendship JS built up with UK's most hated criminal Peter Sutcliffe.
I sense that JS had a warped sense of responsibility?
-
I cannot repeat what I know on a public forum for good reasons. Sorry, but I just felt annoyed that people think he was a Saint.
I am not writing anything more about this subject at this present time.
-
I confess to not having heard the "talk and hushed tones" to which you refer or JS's alleged friendship with Peter Sutcliffe.
As far as I know, niether of the above are criminal offences, whereas Jacqui appears to know that there are other matters which were far more serious and against the law.
-
One of life's most bizarre photographs, Jimmy Savile looks on as Frank Bruno meets Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper??!!
I'd give him another 10 years for crimes against fashion for that shell suit.
-
Sorry jacqui - if you cannot, or will not, detail your as yet unsubstaintiated allegations, it is my opinion that you should not have claimed to know more than any ounce in the first place
You also fail to explain what "the good reasons" are for not telling us.
I am sure I am not alone in wondering 1. what those good reasons are and 2. why having commented provocativley on the thread, you are now withdrawing.
-
Poor guy - turning in his grave springs to mind............Unless he really did something which was so immoral, corrupt, offensive, illegal AND was tried and convicted, then I think that all the good he did during his lifetime outweighs his creepiness.
-
I agree with Highlander, if you're not going to justify your comments then just shut up.
The guy is dead, he raised millions for charity...let him R.I.P.
-
I agree millions liked him and he made millions for charity :(

But definatly creepy as Louis Theroux found out.............

-
Maybe so, but being creepy isn't illegal:(
-
He did once 'touch up' one of the Nolans when she was about 14 I think. She has said this in public in the past.
There are some very strong rumours that he was a kiddie fiddler but nothing was ever proved.
I don't think any amount of charity work can balance that out, personally.
Not one of my favourite loiners by a long long way.
-
Now then, now then... the name of the band playing at Sir Jimmy Savile's funeral will be... Showaddywaddy!
-
I actually thought he was eccentric and psychodelic in his choice of clothes.I never heard anything unusual about him,but did wonder?
-
It might all be rumour but I'm not sure i would have left my children with him. Think what you want after reading this site:
https://merovee.wordpress.com/2011/10/29/jimll-fix-it-jimmy-savile-dead/
-
Have you read the other stuff on that site stoop:(
-
All mild stuff. For the real nasty stuff (although most of it just abusive idiots who know/knew nothing about him) google David Icke Forum and JS. It's NOT nice, you have been warned...
-
I have already seen that site scunner:(
-
Me too. Seems he mixed with a few nasty people.
-
Now the dust has settled on the death of Saville the stories start to emerge, see this article in today's Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/bbc/9073142/BBC-buried-Savile-sex-abuse-claims-to-save-its-reputation.html
We'll never know for certain about him, but this information on what went on with Saville in one of his charity works, plus his hold not just over individuals, but also organisations like the beeb should be of concern to us all.
