Can a ticket that was bought for a chid be amended for an adult?

Would depend on the age of the child I suppose but if you paid the adult price then presumably you could do it online as a name change for £ 20.00.

Agreed it would only be a problem if the price was for children only.  I think the child price applies to holidays not flights.
Any flights we have had for grandson have been the same price as an adult.

Under two you do no pay for a child, but it does not have a seat it sits on the parents knee. Over 2 years old it's the full adult price as the child has a seat, this is for flight only.:D

Sorry to go off topic a bit, but does anyone know the answer to this question...if you pre book the whole 30kg luggage allowance with Thomas Cook, does it all have to be in 1 suitcase, or can you split the total between 2?

Hi minimoo, looking at the tc website it would seem that so long as your hold luggage does not exceed the allowance you have paid for, it does not matter how many cases it is in the only stipulation seems to be no one piece of luggage can weigh more than 30kg due to health & safety

Correct. With TC you can have as many cases as you like providing you dont exceed your kg allowance.

After they charged me £20 excess baggage I might book 30kg next time and take 50 suitcases with a feather in each  :)

We flew with Thomas Crook last week and at Manchester check in we happened to get Mrs Jobsworth:(. We had 3 suitcases @ 59kg and we each (4 of us) had a hand luggage case (all identical). Mrs Jobsworth got us to try a hand luggage in the size cage which showed our cases to be about 2" too big in one dimension :o. She made us empty the hand luggages into carrier bags and re join the queue and check the empty hand luggage cases into the hold:-\. I still don't understand the logic. We were within our total allowance. Why airlines won't allow you to check your 5kg hand luggage into the hold is beyond me.

Then you went through and bought kilos and kilos of duty free Smirnoff and Bells - yes, the whole thing is a farce. We once had one hand baggage case with around 7kg and the limit was 5kg. No problem I told the girl at the desk, for I have 5kg allowance too, and I have not one gram of hand luggage. Not relevant to this 7kg bag she informed us. So, as we held up a huge queue, she watched us move about half of the 7kg into a carrier bag. She weighed both individually, gave us our boarding passes, watched us put carrier bag B into original bag A, and walk off.

Been there :D

What can you do when a decent whisky brand is (was) £20 for a 70cl bottle back in Turkey and Manchester duty free is doing 5 litres for £30!!
