We are going to our apartment in H for 9 months in 2012 :-) including Jan/ Feb/ March... ( we want to experience a full blown turkish winter brrrrr ) lol
Can anyone tell me please what kind of social scene we can expect during those months ? bars ( but not karaoke ones ) restaurants that are open, quiz nights , music quiz nights , walking groups, Bridge get togethers if any ? or any other social activities day or night.. I would appreciate any comments please :)

I dont personally know Ovacik or Hisoranu, but i am sure there will be some activities organized that will be suitable for you, but I do know it is much quieter than in the summer season so dont expect noise and discos !!
FiG are organizing a few special nights during those months if you can get down to Fethiye and Calis, full details will be advertised on here soon
Anyway just wanted to say have a good time :) And yes , you will feel cold!!

The Olu Deniz Hash House Harriers do a walk every 2nd Sunday, there will be several 3Cs evening events in Calis over the coming months & the Friday afternoon quiz at the Eyna restaurant in Calis

Thanks for your replies .. We have several times been there for the `new years eve week` but this time will be much longer .. we already have our heating and electric blankets sorted :-)
The Olu Deniz walking group appeals... where do you all meet please ?

Thanks again for the extra info :-) but would we need a car to get to the `start off places` ? Having no car, we would be quite happy to pay fuel costs etc if picked up from Hisaronu

Abrakebrah is open all year (friendly staff), Fez Bar also stays open and has a quiz night.

We have been to Hisaronu in Jan and just to let you know it is absolutely baltic at night. Fez Bar, Alex's Bar, London Bar and Hakuna used to be open on weekends - think this is still the trend.
