If you have heard negative things and have any doubts at this stage I wouldnt personally go ahead. If you dont trust them now you never will. Scunner can give you advice on a really trustworth company or do a search on here for firstly Hanel Homes and then reputable companies. The search box is on the top right hand side.

We bought from Hanel, without any real problems, others have not been so lucky, where are you buying.

We lived two years in a Hanel built house. Terrible it was. The exterior of the house looked promising , but the rest was very very bad. I don't know though , if all Hanel houses are bad. Even if some are good and some are bad , this shows they have no standards. I personally would not buy from them.

Please, please please have nothing to do with them, They are a total bunch of lying B*stards, they will tell you anything you want to hear to get your money, their contracts are not good enough to wipe your bum on....

We have a Hanel home but didn't buy it from them, it was a resale.
We have had it 3 years now and it is lovely.

If you can get out of buying from them, i.e. you have not fully committed to it, RUN !!

Mariem I don't know this company but I think you have your answer. Personally I would take the advice off these people as I wouldn't want to be another statistic. Please be careful.

I bought an apartment from Hanel and can honestly say I have been very happy with it. Saying that, I may have been lucky.  Others have obviously not been so lucky as the previous posts suggest.  Pete

Please listen to the long standing members of this forum who have told you to avoid them, when it comes to buying in Turkey experience is everything.
There is nothing worse than people seeking advice then ignoreing it ,to find out to their cost they have been ripped off.

We purchased 2 apartments from them in 2008 and struggled to get any of the problems which we had with them rectified. They have no aftersales staff and will not deal with you even if you visit their increasingly delapidated office overlooking the bay on a daily basis.

From what others on our complex have said and our experience they will do all they can to get the money off of you and then they leave you to sort any problems out yourself and at your expense.

Also they have been building loads in the Bodrum area but not under the Hanel name, wonder why!!!!

Would I recommend them....NO, be aware.

I can only assume that way back in 2003 the staff were totally different to todays Hanel staff.... in those days they were new to the area, the market was bouyant and they were out to impress.

Yes Sleuth that would appear to be the case from what I have heard  things started to go down hill from about 2007 onwards and have gone as low as they can get. As they still have properties for sale around Fethiye, Yaniklar, Gocek they will still give the good old sales pitch that any problems we will sort out, until the time comes and they aren't interested.

We still know a few of the guys that used to work for them and they shrug their shoulders when you mention Hanel!!!:(

I've actually told people I've seen OOOhing and Arrrhing in the windows at Hanel when they still had offices in Hisaronu, Olu and Fethiye....Not to buy from them,I'm proud to say I've put off quite a few people from buying through them  :)

We bought our house at Seaside from Hanel. I have to say the aftersales were very good. They corrected everything on our snagging list. I do know some people on the complex had problems with them. When we stopped using them from being our management company, they did get over the top in the treatment of our new team.

I would say that if you followed the history of the larger local developers, you would be able to plot two graphs that clearly show a 45 degree angle downwards over time - the first graph construction and finish quality, and the second, after sales and site management. As prices of construction materials went up, quality went down - I can't think of a single exception to that rule in the "big boys".

We were lucky insofar as when we bought HH offered free legal fees etc. and they did actually deliver.

They also promised 5 year warranties on the builds, claiming they complied to UK standards.

Just before the warranty ran out HH offerered to take ALL their customers out for dinner to the Saat restaurant.

Many owners went.  We didn't cos we knew there was going to be a catch and just couldn't be a***ed with their lies by this time.

Some owners still talk about HH generosity:-/

Big surprise...next day all owners received an email advising them HH were no longer providing any kind of management or help.  Warranties were no longer valid.

On a more personal level, after they'd gone, one of the HH employees told me that his manager, who I had massive issues with, had asked him to poison our dog ie "put some poison in the stream" etc.

Hanel House...nasty, nasty people.

The after sales team were serial liars.
I received fictitious handwritten invoices on bits of scruffy paper from members of staff.
I was asked for £450 for our tapu. The guy didn't get it.
We lost a lot of items from our house and Hanel were the only people over here with a key.
After 3 years of our 5 year warranty they walked off into the sunset but they'd still say that "someone was coming around in the afternoon". They would say anything to keep you happy.
I received a threatening email after a dispute with an employee.

The list could go on.

They have other businesses , too. Their main business is jewellery I have heared. Have a look at http://www.ozyer.com/default.asp?L=TR&mid=255. There might be other businesses you might want to avoid.
