Yesterday, my friend took her dog with her on a hash walk around the Karagozler (boatyard) area. Near to the former Mediterran Hotel, a rottweiler came from seemingly nowhere & attacked my friend's small dog. Fortunately, there were several people that quickly heeded my friend's calls for help & beat the rotty off with sticks.
My friend spent most of the afternoon with Ankavets & luckily, her dog is unlikely to suffer lasting damage, though the little mutt is suffering the indignity of having her a**e shaved, treatment (iodine?) that has caused the skin to turn purple & there are two distinct puncture marks from the rotty's fangs.
So if you're dog walking in that area, please be aware

do you know if it had a collar on?
-
What is the significance of a collar, Peecee? The little dog was attacked, bitten, & severely traumatised, I should imagine. Whether the offending beast was wearing a collar or not, was probably the farthest thing from the mind of the little dogs owner.

It belongs there. Used to come into Med Hotel so we stopped taking our charlie as he was attacked.
From one of the boatyards

if you want something done about it, it has to be reported to the Fethiye Zabita, if you have no luck let me know.
-
The collar would be the first step towards confirming the ID of this beast.

Thanks for the advice Tinkerman. I know nothing was reported on Sunday, as my friend was only concerned in getting Molly treated. The family went out sailing on Monday & are not back as yet. I'll pass that on as soon as I see them. If it wasn't wearing a collar will teeth impressions do [?] ;)

Definately needs reporting and then something will be done to prevent further attacks!

Exactly, that was the point of the collar ;) And possibly stop other dogs getting attacked
