FiG today visited Kayacik Village School, High in the mountains towards Saklikent. We took with us some much needed items that they had requested, including uniforms, arts and craft materials, easels and musical instruments for the children, and wheelbarrow, stepladder and electrical extension lead for the teachers to use!!
We were also there to check out the nursery class that we had furnished earlier with among other items, a teachers desk and chair and new cupboards for the childrens belongings which Eren spot made to our specifications and you can see on the photos how well they look
We had a lovely time and the children carried their tables and benches outside for us and their mothers made us lovely Gozleme, Borek and Ayran for an alfresco lunch! They made us feel very welcome and were very grateful for all the help we have given, weve been promised a barbecue next time we go :)
Anyway here are a few pictures, its in a very pretty place and very remote

We couldnt do any of this without all the people who support us in our work, as I always say, Its a big thank you to everyone who supports us, whether by volunteering their time in the shop or at the coffee morning, donating items we can sell in the shop and all those people who give us their support by attending fundraising events, the coffee morning and by shopping at our shop :)

A school with a sheer drop like that in the UK would have been shut down years ago ;)
Absolutely magnificent Jules and everyone else involved - it shows once again that you don't need vast sums to be donated to be able to make a difference and to make people's lives a little easier or more comfortable. Some of the items requested in these types of projects are equally dull and touching - like the requirement for an extension lead!!
Well done to all.

Yes they scared me at first standing on the edge of the playground but they were ok
The extension lead was what the teachers were most excited about, and the wheelbarrow, I think, was to transport logs of wood from the far end of the playground to the schools sobes !
