Title: Yengec
Post by: Highlander on December 11, 2011, 19:59:48 PM
Our very good friend Murat from Scarlett has a new restautant venture in Fethiye which we wish him every success with. May be worth a visit and I look forward to reading reviews.

Looks a bit posh - hope he lets us in when we visit.

Murat advises that the restaurant is located by Yes Marina in Karagozler

I saw this on FB. I know Scarlett but not Murat, seems he's an "old school" cbf friend. Will take Mrs S there once she arrives after Xmas & let you know, bet someone beats me to a report though!

It is a fabulous restaurant now. Lets hope he knows what he is doing and not yet another good place bites the dust. I wish him well with his new venture.

Fancy some "posh nosh" seafood 1 night then Lance? Well Irina will do the posh & we can do the nosh lol. I thought it was in Calis at 1st (it's in the Calis Beach restaurant section!) then realised once I read Higlanders blurb it's in Fethiye, early meal or taxi back then!

How do you get to this place? Is it near the Yacht Hotels?

Thanks folks will give it a try next time we are over.  Just as long as they have other stuff on the menu apart from Fish as my husband is allergic to fish.

Thanks H, but if it only serves fish that lets us out.  Who ever heard of a man that loved fish all his life and ordered it at every opportunity, developing a fish allergy in his fifties!!!!????

Its certainly changed since our last visit,I seem to recall lots of dodgy steps and that was before we had very expensive brandies in a
tacky hut of a building. So good look to Murat in his venture.

Went to Yengec Saturday night, it was a little bit quiet because of the bad weather but the food was lovely,a really good choice of fish or meat.  The prices are good, no more expensive than the Calis promenade prices and the service excellent.

The views are breathtaking, cant wait to be there in summer! Good Luck Murat xx

The menu does seem as attractive as the setting, we'll definitely be giving it a go. If there was one small criticism (generally, not specifically about Yengec), why does every restaurant, irrespective of standard or quality, think a kid's menu of chicken nuggets/fish fingers/spaghetti is effort enough? My kids get one night to choose which restaurant they liked most and would like to go back to - I strongly believe that restaurateurs totally miss a trick when it comes to the importance and influence of kids when it comes to where families eat out on holiday.
