Dennis Davey was once about the only singing entertainment you could book in Calis.  Much criticised in some quarters for a crooning or "club style" of singing, Dennis was also one of the jolliest, warmest and most giving human beings I ever met. A true gent and a great character, I miss seeing his smiling face  :)

By the way, he's not dead, he moved back to the UK  ;)

I must say it is rather sad when you have to join a forum under a false name to post nice comments about yourself! Get a grip Tom!!! I just take a split second to delete them all anyway :D

Gary Carr, now that is a different character altogether - I remember learning a valuable lesson from the whole Mr. Carr period. He was so off the wall and unpredictable that it took months and months to finally get rid of him from the forum - and soon after he had gone, I hoped he'd come back [:o] A total loop, his "wind-ups" were so ridiculous they were, and still are, legendary.

There was a cracking young Welsh lad singing in a few places about 6yrs ago but think he got kicked out for no permit etc.Cant remember his name but he could sing the yellow pages.Once saw Dennis Davey nearly every night about 5yrs ago we went to different places but he just happened to be on,even when we went up to Hisaronu one Saturday !
