Just introducing myself. Am registered as Tayged and have made a great start by putting in the wrong date of birth.  apparantley I'm twelve, oops, my son will soon be that age.  Logged onto the site as I am hoping to visit Calis in July for the first time with my family and was wanting to find out some information about the place.  Am renting a friends appartment.  

Have never been to Turkey before and haven't had a holiday in years, so whilst I'm really looking forward to it, I,m also a tad nervous and don't know what to expect.

Site seems really friendly and good fun.  If this can be compared to Calis then, hopefully we will have a great time.

Hello Tayged and welcome to the forum. My first visit to Turkey was last May and we have been seven times since then. I really think that when you do visit you will soon realise why so many of us love Turkey so much (especially Calis/Fethiye). Anything you may need to know about the place you will probably be able to find in this forum by using the search facility.

I am sure there are lots of ideas on the forum for you and your family to do - alternatively it is sitting by the pool enjoying a drink or two and watching the beautiful sunsets!

Hi Tayged,  I've been to Turkey twice before but never to Calis, we go this August for 2 weeks and I can't wait.  The info on this site makes me look forward to it more each day.  Enjoy the forum

We have been going to Turkey for the past nine years and Calis/Fethiye is our favourite place.  I am sure you will have a fantastic holiday and probably want to return many more times.
Its the kind of place where you can be as active or as lazy as you like.  There's nothing like a few beers in the sun when you are on holiday....

You'll adore Calis, Fethyie is great too and Olu Deniz and Hisonaru (if you like thump thump musci lol)and the boat trips and.............. do I need to go on?

I'm sure you have a brilliant time in Calis & surrounding area, so much so, you'll wish you had been sooner. What more could you want than long hot sunny days, plenty of places to eat & drink and people that can't do enough for you.

Hi Tayged,like you I'm also new to the forum,we have a place in Altinkum but hope to visit Calis and surrounding area someday.Lots of good info on the site so have a good read.

Just managed to get back to check the forum and am really chuffed with the lovely replies from everyone.  We haven't had a family holiday in the sun before and we are all really looking forward to the break.  The Forum Bar is definitely on my list, and Stoop, I'll make sure I get you that Birthday Drink.  You'll know who we are, my husband is pretty tall and I'll be the palest person in Turkey for sure!!!  Me and the sun don't get on too well which I'm a tad worried about cos I gather it's gonna be pretty hot.  Not going to bother with sun block, thought I'd just bring a mac.  It's funny though, went to Greece years ago, it was about 100 degrees but it didn't seem it.  For some reason holiday sunshine seems different to when it's hot at home.  Anyway, best go this is meant to be for quick replies!  Ooops. xx
