National headline news......temps will plummet to minus 6!!!! Big wow. It's the big talking point - the weather front coming in from Siberia. H-e-l-l-o it is winter after all. And while I'm having a moan.....I HATE the expression "cold snap"! What the hell is a cold snap? (come on all you budding comedians)
I'm away to look out my thermals.
:o

Well i'm just glad i'm not a brass monkey this week.
A cold snap is when you switch on the wipers to clear the screen and they refuse to move cos thier frozen in the last position.
Oh yes and i dont have to look out my thermals i know exactly where they are right now. lol

LOL, man up happy-flyer!!!
A bit of de-icer will sort it out.

I can honestly say I have never experienced what I found when I went to my car early one morning last week. Ice - on the INSIDE of the windscreen!!

I have just discovered what a cold snap is, it is when the temperature indicator in the car flashes at 3c, I take this to mean that it is cold? I would never have guessed otherwise : :) ;)[:o)]

I get this at 5pm when I come out of work bot not in the morning.
My theory is that condensation gathers inside from sitting in the sun during the day. Or is that silly????

When it's so cold that things snap off? ;)

Not as bad as last winter, yet. Minus nineteen near Grantown-On-Spey in December 2010.

How about this then, hubby got in car this morning after finishing night shift, he had saved half a banana to eat on the way home from work but the banana had frozen solid in the car over night ;)

During the awful snow that refused to leave of last winter, I opened the car door and a huge clump of snow fell from the top of the door/roof onto the floor inside the car. With full heater blast I went out, 15 minutes drive, 20 minutes later I drove the 15 minutes back - and when I got home the snow was still perfect snow inside the car - now I'd call that cold :D

Karennina, Mr Toky & I were skiing in Austria last week. We bought a couple of bananas and took them in my wee backpack up the mountain. 3 hrs later we stopped for a coffee......( well..... it was a hot chocolate with rum!)and went to eat the bananas. Not only were they frozen solid, the skins had changed from a yucky green colour, to completely black. We ended up sticking them on a snowman some kids were building outside a mountain hut!
:D
