At least Huhne resigned, whereas Terry had to be pushed. Any bets on which, if any, will be found guilty?

Huhne's made it clear that he's going to fight it but Terry's just gonna lay there crying and hope someone else gets a red card.

Footballers, politicians, bankers, all from the same mould; greedy, lazy gits, who think that they are a league above everyone else, and 'bullet-proof' when it comes to breaking the law !! [:(!]

I bet the lawyers and estate agents are celebrating now that they're dropping down the league table of hate.

I would assume that her version of events is the correct one (as she is incriminating herself in doing this) and to see him today categorically denying the whole thing for the press must be sickening for her to hear - when she knows he is lying and she was married to the deceptive creep. I'd like to be able to admire him for such a skill, but sadly I've worked with enough people who can look you straight in the eye and lie through their teeth without even having to put any effort into it.

I recall a similar sanctimonious MP Johathan Aitken making the same sort of gilded statement prior to a civil, which quickly became a criminal, action, which went:

"If it falls to me to start a fight to cut out the cancer of bent and twisted journalism in our country with the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of British fair play, so be it. I am ready for the fight. The fight against falsehood and those who peddle it. My fight begins today."

Like Huhne he was looking for the family to lie for him, well at this stage in Huhne's case allegedly ....but in Aitken's case M'lud said guilty ... and down he went for 18 months.  So the precedent is there for Huhne :)

The thing that disturbs me is that the decision was taken by Mr Rene Barclay, a senior and very experienced prosecutor, in consultation with Sue Hemming, the Head of Special Crime Division.

Has she nothing better to do with her time.:(

She's recently been promoted from SOBWIB, the Serious and Organised Basket Weaving Investigation Branch.

Yep. Perverting the course of justice is a far reaching offence but for this level (and there are a few precedents), then you'd be looking at a few weeks inside.
An aggravating feature, in the judges eyes, might be his position as a minister means he should be expected to st an example and this might increase any sentence.

Of course he's innocent until proven guilty and may well be found not guilty at trial.
