Don't get excited...it's in a league of the five worst destination for flight prices this summer :(
Fly.com report that prices for summer 2012 have soared 25% when compared with summer 2011. This year on year increase is in stark contrast to destinations that made the opposing list, the five best destinations year on year for flight prices, including Miami (23% down on 2011), Dubrovnik (Croatia - 41% cheaper for 2012) and Florence (47% cheaper).
Still, at least it isn't another report about the outrageous food and drink costs :-\

Sounds about right - prices are sky high this summer.

Thomas Cook and the other flight operators HAVE to recoup as much money as possible and with the Euro situation, more tourists, or those who can afford a holiday, are going to non-Euro countries. Turkey's rate of exchange has been good news for UK tourists, even though the rate is dropping now. Turkey is still a good option for holidays from a financial point of view AND the country is beautiful. :)

I think it's more due to falling competition rather than TC having to make as much as possible. They've always had to make as much as possible ;)
