Davy Jones of the Monkees was the reason that a rising star called David Jones changed his name to.............. David Bowie.

R.I.P Davy one of my 1st heart throbs.Will always remember the fun the Monkees brought back to popular music in the 60's.Never took themselves seriously.Happy Saturdays watching their show with my friend Pam and drooling over Davy.

I bet there's not a person out there who doesn't join in the song chorus when Davey Jones sang 'Cheer up sleepy Jean .........', a sad loss at a relatively young age these days.
