Hi all, I have searched the forum and couldn't find anything that could help me, so I'm hopeful that the brains and experience on the forum can?
I've been asked to help a Calis friend whose husband has sadly passed away. She has asked for advice on how to add her son to the Tapu as she is concerned that she will lose her apartment.
Other than making an appointment with the solicitor and adding her son's name to the Tapu, anything else needed? Electricity, Water, taxes, eathquake insurance need changing, I'm guess? Others?
My wife and I and our friend will be out in May to sort all the neccessary paperwork.

I don't think it's as simple as "making an appointment with the solicitor and adding her son's name to the Tapu". I'm pretty sure that they virtually have to go through the entire sale process and incur the costs that it involves.
No doubt someone will be along later to confirm this, or not.

I think that the property will pass to her son anyway.

Redding43 started a similar thread last year, sorry I don't seem to be able to paste it here, but if you do a search "changing names", you'll find it
