Hey all,
Turkish Airlines just announced a new route to Edinburgh and is offering some pretty sweet promo fares:
=> Monday 16th July until Monday 23rd July for just £101 per person when booked via lastminute.com [also 1.01% TCB bringing it down to just below £100]
OR
£104 per person when booked via BudgetAir.co.uk [also £7.07 TCB plus £15 off your next flight/hotel/car rental, i.e. £97 + £15 voucher]
Direct flight to an amazing city, no hidden charges, 4* airline & 23kg baggage allowance make this a great deal.
TAKEN FROM HOTUKDEALS hope this helps someone

Great news. Just read this yesterday
-
Great deal but very expensive for some of the other dates. I looked at October and it was over £649 each. They will need to have a rethink if they want customers after the offer period
-
Sounds good. I want to go to Istanbul at some time. :)

Most expensive fare I found in Oct is £324.
After the offer period it looks like the current price spread is £213 - £324, although there will be the odd date where heavy booking will push the price up. Compares pretty well to KLM from EDI who are starting off at £269 with a change at AMS.
Mind you, if you don't mind travelling to ABZ then KLM are still way under £200 for a return to Istanbul!

If you get fed up of Istanbul and fancy some real excitement, consider Turkish Airlines' newest route from Istanbul - Mogadishu. I am NOT joking...(quote)"Turkish Airlines started flying into Somalia's war-torn capital Tuesday, becoming the first international company to fly passenger planes into Mogadishu in more than 20 years"
If you fancy a holiday there, save money by only booking one way. Many visitors find that to be all that is required.
-
You dont need visa for Mogadishu, just a bag of cash to pay your ransom. They also fly to Misrata but they have actually stopped now flying to Damascus. Waiting for them to do flights to Newcastle although I dont know why I am mentioning that place in the same breath as Misrata, Damascus and Mogadishu......

Yeah I fly from Aberdeen so I may as well continue.I don't mind changing in AMS for that price. I would have driven to Edinburgh though if the prices were better with TA but looks not.

Oops sorry just looked again and £649 was for the two of us!
