Post by: mercury on April 16, 2012, 19:10:59 PM: I have just seen on tv that Robin Gibb is in a coma. I am devastated. I have been a Bee Gees fan since I first heard an E.P of them when I was 14 yrs old. 44 years. I think The Bee Gees were vocally brilliant and exceptional song writers. I think Robin Gibb has the most soulful voice I have ever hear. I am expecting cynical remarks about them but please rememeber that they have millions of people like me all around the world that love them. xxx

I absolutely loved the movie Saturday Night Fever particularly if my memory serves me right I had gotten in to an 18 film and was underage!Many a happy night having a dance to the soundtrack think my fav of all time has to be How Deep is your love.
So sad especially like you said Stoop for the poor mother her third son.

Post by: grizabella on April 17, 2012, 08:59:12 AM: Oops realised I'd made a mistake when I said he was a very handsome man.That of course is Barry!Robin was Maurice's twin.I did know Robin was fighting cancer.Sorry to hear he is losing his courageous battle with this horrible disease.My thoughts and sympathies go out to the family.Another musical genious being taken too soon.

My sister was born in 1947 and our mum is still very much alive and kicking (almost literally) at 88, so don't see any reason why the Gibb brothers mum shouldn't be the same. ;)

What ever you may feel about disco, Saturday Night Fever is one of the greatest LPs ever. Full of great songs which were all written by the Bee Gees, and performed by them and other talented artists, to create one of the biggest selling LPs ever, and not forgetting the singles from it. If I was forced to choose my favourite from amongst the many I think it would probably be Massachusetts.. fantastic.

Post by: Sleuth on April 18, 2012, 10:03:05 AM: I agree with all of the above comments from `used bus tickets` but to choose a favourite from sooooooo many classic tracks is difficult ( I have about 35 of their tracks and cover versions on my i pod ) but if forced to choose from tracks with Robin leading the vocals my favourite would have to be " now I`ve found that that the world is round " mmmmmmmmmmmm great track .
