Title: Up and running for a month now
Post by: Marggie on July 02, 2012, 19:49:29 PM: I think the new style forum has been running for a month now. Now it feels like an old friend to me. I particularly like:

The clean modern lines
The speed
The ability to click on 'new' and just read the most recent posts or posts since last visit, posts in last 1hr, 8 hrs or 24hrs and of course view the most recent posts.
The ease of navigation.

Post by: Scunner on July 02, 2012, 22:15:29 PM: It was never going to be easy because we were all snug and comfy at the old CBF and actually it was me that held out the longest - the technical reasons for moving far outweighed the "old pair of slippers" reason to stay as it was but I was always aware that many members are Calis lovers rather than forum/internet experts - and it's hard to ask people to learn a new way of accessing CBF when they've maybe just got to grips with the original CBF.

But slowly/surely it is paying off - people can now easily post photos, things are brighter, crisper and easier - once you know that everything is here, just sometimes under a different name (active topics = unread posts etc). I'm very pleased that members are starting to feel right at home with the new CBF, because the old one was dying a slow death :D
