-
We were in Calis at the beginning of June & saw the camel on the prom!

There has been one outside B52 in the past. Bloody shame for the poor beast - I never understood why it was there apart from to make a right mess of the soles of my high heels >:(

Thank you so much Isla will be delighted that she will get to meet a camel.
This is a photo of her and Grandad in 2009 with "Colin".

There has been a camel by the Sunset Beach apartments ( just before the Surf Cafe) the last couple of times I have walked past there. The last time being today
-
Yep there's one near sunset beach apartments and sometimes hes at the end of the prom near where mimosa was(is?) , it sleeps along the main road near my house :) i love camels aha, the noises they make are so weird, sounds like someone snoring lol
-
Yes the camel is there alright saw it most days down on the beach usually its always down at the koca calis end of the beach near the surf cafe dont know wether thats telling us something but i love the pooh bucket tied arond its back under its tail i wonder who thought of that?
-
Well done for calling it a pooh bucket ! ;)

Be very wary of its owner as he has a nastier bite than the camel ! Our neighbors wanted a photo of their daughter with the camel and the next thing they knew he had her mounted and off for a short ride followed by the demand for 35tl which worked out a lot dearer than calis taxis per mile !!!

Thank you Sonia for that piece of advice.
Although as much as Isla loves the camels and getting her photo took with them ... the chances of him getting her up there for a ride!!!??? She's a bit of a scardey cat my lassie! :o
But we will heed the warning, thanks again.

wow 35tl! they charged me and my friend 5tl to have out photo taken with him once, they literally took the camera out of my hands and took a photo without us even asking, didnt want to refuse the 5tl while he had my camera in his hands!

Camel and owner seem to start at about 10 in the morning from the beach by the new Jiva Complex, next to the Sunset Beach Apartments, and wander along the beach up to the Mekan [Birlik] Restaurant, they rest up under the single tree left on the cleared area for what was,or is, going to be the 5 Star all inclusive complex behind the Surf Cafe.
You can't miss them, just follow the odour!
