Title: Meds
Post by: TimJon on July 10, 2012, 05:52:25 AM
Hi all,

My first proper post.

I am coming to Fethiye next week and am wondering if it is possible to obtain a medication called "Seriflo 250" it is an inhaler and about the only thing that controls my breathing (I have COPD). I know it is made in India and is available here in the Middle East.
Hopefully I will bring enough with me but it would be good to know that I can get some In Turkey if I do run out or even worse, lose what I have.

Looking forward to my return to my Turkish heaven   ;D 8)

You can check it out on the link below.   Most meds are available in Turkey and most at a very competitive cost.

I think that you will find that this list only covers drugs that are actualy manufactured in Turkey, and not drugs that may well be available in Turkey but manufactured elsewhere.

I don't know if that is the case or not Philrose but what I do know is that a nasal spray, prescribed for my husband here in the UK, was not on the list and neither was it available in Turkey.  We tried various pharmacies only to be told it was not available in Turkey.  However they were able to offer an alternative with the same "ingredients".

I found my medication on here, but discovered that it is no longer available in Turkey. I will ask in the chemist this evening and let you know what they say.

Thank you Marggie and Philrose, I checked the website but found nothing similar. Hotlips, thank you for asking, it will be interesting to hear from a chemist.

Hello, checked with chemist in Fethiye and he said they didn't do it. He spent a while checking it out and suggested an alternative ' seretide diskus' . He said to look it up on the Internet to see the details.
Hope this helps, regards H

Thanks Hotlips,
Seretide has only one of the two ingredients in Sereflo, so I guess I had better bring a spare, though at the equivilent of 127 TL per inhaler, I will have to be careful not to lose that one.   : :)
