Enjoy! I used to live next door to a Mosque! And in that Country they would start by reading a part of the Koran, next day that and another part, until it was the entire thin g shouted out by the Mullah, seem to remember it went on nearly all night! I was so grateful for the noisy air conditioner that I had previously grumbled about! Hopefully they dont do that in Turkey -- I would have to leave for Ramadan!

If I left for Ramadan, it would be because the driving gets even worse for that period.  Amazingly.

We were  in Fethiye at the fish market when the canon went off to signal the stampede to eat. It made us jump and we thought it was the bloody Syrians,

I was hoping to hear the drummers but alas I slept right through and have now returned to England, although I understand he was in deffinitely in the area from others. I hear that there is a move to get rid of the drumming tradition as it disturbs people.................

We had the drummer Thursday night/Friday morning, then again Friday night /Saturday morning, when it seemed to turn into some kind of game of hide and seek with the drummers, around the streets in our area for about an hour, drummers on the back of electric bikes, banging away up and down the roads while you could hear other drummers in adjacent roads. It must have upset a few people, as last night no drummers.

I have to say, I would rather be there with the drummers, than sitting here in my office in the UK!

You'd think so, alarm clocks seem to be at the heart of the debate!
