I have to say wow.Went past the area being turned in to the new centre last night and saw some fantastic tree displays and bush carvings. One was designed to look like a horse drawn carriage and horses.Sorry no pictures forgot my camera.Well done Fethiye Belediye.

Wonderful ,wonderful pıctures. It looks lovely.
-
It all looks fantastic but why have they gone right up to the edge of the marina?
-
" Why have they gone right up to the edge of the Marina?" :-\
Probably because that is what was on the plans ?? I just hope that these improvements bring a much needed business boost to the little bars/restaurants at the edge of the park. Go Melodi Bar !! ;) ;D
-
Very impressive thanks for sharing ;D
-
I can't wait to see this. It really should help the local businesses, unbelieveable improvements.
-
Wow!! Looking forward to seeing this in a weeks time
-
When you consider that they are about to move all of the schools which are in the town centre and quite close to the new square, Fethiye is about to become very different and for me ............... I like it !
-
Will be biking down there in a couple of weeks time :)
-
Certainly looks different to when i was having a cuppa at Val's bar in may, well done Fethiye job well done, roll on the next cuppa 7 days and counting. ;D 8)
-
Wow looks very impressive - cant wait to see next week!
-
Looks wonderful! We're going into Fethiye tomorrow so will be having a look! :)
-
Looks Fantastic, certainly needs something doing over here. because Calis is dying, and no matter how us old die hards that have been coming here for years and living here too will keep plugging the place from days gone bye. we all know its not the same anymore. hope it changes though.
-
looking good. Can't wait to see it now

Des totally agree, something needs to be done in Calis, tired dated, only so many times one can walk the prom or bar street, and day in day out gets a little tedious.
-
Looks amazing. What a difference from the diggers clearing it all in May.
:)
-
Imagine how it will look when water / fountains and lights are working. It will be FAB.
-
Wowzer...looks great! Haven't been down to Fethiye in a while cos of the heat but will def go tomorrow to look at all this :D
-
Thanks Rimms for sharing your photos, my hubby & I were wondering what it was going to look like when we saw the "work in progress" in July. It looks great and cant wait to see it for ourselves in September. :)
-
Wow. Looks stunning. Agree with you Des and Loz, about Calis looking dated. The Beledesi in Calis really do need to invest money into Calis to help with encouraging visitors into the area. One of the problems with 'improvements' in and around the Calis area, are that they appear to do the 'improvements' when the tourists are there and not before the season starts!
-
Well that looks really really good....I will certainly go and look in a couple of weeks time....
-
But will the Pelican bar be reinstated ?????
-
I hope not, with all the mess the birds made around the place when people were eating, very unpleasant.
-
Wonderful. Reminds me why I have a place in Fethiye. When I think what it was like 20 odd years ago!
-
Was nothing like this when I cycled into town 10 days ago.WOW!Cant wait to return on the 22nd and see the finished result.
-
Hope you are right about the bars Gordon, Selma at Melodi deserves it, good bar, good food, homemade fish cakes mmmm, and the best Menemen I have tasted
-
It looks lovely. Can't wait to get there.
If you think Calis is getting dated, run down etc., and a bit boring, then you ought to live here in Grantham! It makes Calis look like paradise.
-
thanks for posting great pics love the topiary
-
It certainly looks like its going to be lovely when its finished. But I wonder how long the water features will function. It seems to be a 'thing' both here, and in the UK, to have these things, then not have water in them.
-
I hope they do get the fountains working this year, End of August would be nice ;)
-
All will be finished by October according to local press
-
The lights were switched on last night round the "topiary section"
-
Wow - fabulous transformation. Can't wait to see it for myself in September - bit different from when it resembled a building site in June.
-
Taking the camera when I cycle into town tomorrow.Looking forward to seeing the transformation first hand.
