Title: Euro King Fitted Sheets
Post by: Ian on July 31, 2012, 08:43:45 AM
Hi - the "boss" would like to know has anyone bought any fitted sheets and/or a valance sheet to fit a euro king size bed (mattress is 2.0m x 1.6m x 0.28) - if so where did you get them?

We are thinking it might be easier to have them made at one of the curtain/bedding shops on the back road?

We have "large double" beds at our apartment and have taken fitted kingsize from the UK which fit perfectly.... when we furnished the place way back in 2006 we couldn't get fitted sheets anywhere hence we took them out with us.

We had fitted sheets made at Arzum  It is on the back road near the Calis Sahilden Dolmus (coming from Fethiye it is on the right where the road splits to go straight on to Calis or turn left to go follow the coast).

Many thanks for your advice - will pass them on - I know she said not to get 100% cotton because of the ironing problem but surely that is something any average woman can sort out ???

Wait for it :-)

Always bring ours  from the U.K.  The first ones we bought in Fethiye where a nightmare to try and iron.   If you could find the right material you could ask the dressmaker in Calis, the one just up from the Aqua Park.

I know a certain gentleman called Peter ("Squiffy), who just LOVES ironing,  : :), I'm sure for a small donation to 3 Cs he would consider it !! Sorry Pete, couldn't resist it my friend .    ;)

I think the consensus is "buy them from the UK and keep schtum about ironing  :)"

I think Ikea do Euro King so a trip to Warrington is on the cards then when we go home as I suspect they will be the cheapest for reasonable quality?

Jacqui - as a bargain hunter do you concur ???

Our nearest Ikea is 3 hours drive away :(  however, I always look at the sales in M.&.S , Next and also T.K.Maxx. I have used an online site for bedding which I can recommend as being very good.  This is it:

I've used Textiles Direct also and found them to be very good.

Jacqui - many thanks - great site - great prices

This  is getting more technical now - as our bed is 160 x 200 and most sheets appear to be 152 x 200 (King - too small) or 189 x 200 (Super King - too big)

So apparently we have to have a Euro King 160 x 200 - so back to eBay   :)

Bl**dy EU - they complicate everything  : :)

160x200 is a standard size in Turkey and you can buy fitted sheets everywhere.
The textile shops, market, migros, you name it.
You can get cotton, terry or a material called penye in Turkish.
I have no idea what penye is called in English (according to google it is "combed" ;) but it is a soft, stretchy fabric.

Ironing sheets is something I don't do even though my sheets are cotton  :P
