Post by: Robw on August 14, 2012, 17:53:57 PM
I want to book flights from Luton to Dalaman for around about the 17TH of August next year and was wondering from members experience when is the best
(most economical) time to book?

Thank in advance  8)

From personal experience it depends how long you can hold your nerve for! My family and I have been going to Turkey at peak summer season for the last seven years and the earliest we've booked our flights is a week before the outbound flight. Some people say we're mad, some say we're very lucky but we've always managed to book cheap return flights through Thomas Cook and Charter Flights. We flew from Humberside-Dalaman and Dalaman-Manchester for £180 each this year!
You might find that others recommend booking early but we've not done too bad these last 7 years  ;)

august flights this year late availability as much as £600 each. Too scary for me.  :o

Its cheaper to book a last minute package rather than just the flight at the moment. I was always of the mind that six weeks before you wanted to fly was always a good time to get a deal.

I hope the Airlines are not pricing Turkey out of the market!

I always book within a couple of days of the flights being released. I've seen nothing yet to make me do any different.

Yep, me too - right back to the early days and through the Aegean days, and now the Easyjet days. In fact, I booked this year's flights for (as I recall) £82 return each because I booked them within minutes of them being released on the Easyjet website. Portugal, not Turkey though  :)

I had a look at Easyjet website but it seems to be only six months in advance?

My expereince is that it's very 'hit and miss'.
As soon as they come on sale is normally a good time.
Yet also, I have found Jan and Feb decent prices.
I also booked an EasyJet flight early July this year for
freinds flying to Dalaman later this month. Must have
caught it at the right time, Saturday afternoon flights
from Stansted £45 one way, including charges, just
the luggage extra.

We always try and book the day the flights are released with easyjet, and if we are lucky to book that day we always get a good deal...  :)
