Phil renewed his last year.  The only problem he had was that the photos were returned as they were the wrong size, despite showing the photographer the measurements stated on the paperwork.  This meant paying twice for courier service but other than that, it was all straight forward.  It took about 2 weeks to get his new passport once the photos were sorted.

Did ours 2 years ago no problem and passports were back in 1 week. Used UK credit card. Our friends did theirs this year and had problems because despite being asked to send credit card details they sent a Turkish Bank cash card details and - 1. It was not accepted  2. Their Turkish bank told them they would not accept any requests from Passport Office for payments in Euros only in TL even using their credit card. Got it sorted but took 6 weeks and a lot of emails and a UK credit card. Has anyone used a Turkish Credit card for Passport renewals ?

I sent mine last week and used Aras Cargo it cost 86lira to send.  I know they have received it in Germany as the payment for the passport has been taken from my credit card so just waiting for it back now.  It was all straight forward enough once you had the forms in front of you, or you can complete the smartform on their webiste and then print it off to send.

Got my new passport today, only 2 weeks which is great service.  Now the bad bit, for others; From 2014, people living overseas will have to renew their passport directly to the Identity and Passport Service (IPS - an agency of the Home Office) in the UK.  This means that the current network of Regional Passport Processing Centres overseas will close.  They state that the time to process each application will be 4 weeks from the date they receive it.  So plan ahead peeps.
