Quite a confusing article - maybe people more in the know can advise...

A warning issued for dolphin Tom

Environmentalists in the western resort of Kuşadası have issued a call for authorities to relocate Tom, a dolphin that was rescued two years ago from a dolphinarium in nearby Hisarönü, before fishing season begins on Sept. 1 out of fears for his safety.

Oh no...this is not good news at all but probably best to wait for verification from those in the know.

It would be awful if anything happened to him after all the hard work that's been done to save and rehabilitate him

This is my take on the article. The local fishermen who under normal circumstances would have no hesitation in having a jab, injuring or even illegally capturing a dolphin to sell to an unscrupulous captive dolphin facility are aware that Tom is being monitored and know that in the unlikely event that Tom would mess with “their” fish their actions too will be observed and come under scrutiny and indeed legitimate punishment. The idea that Tom can be “relocated” is simply ludicrous.
