The first Çalış Car boot sale of the 2012/13 winter season takes place this Sunday 23 September.
An article from land of Lights which gives full details of the event follows:
"The popular monthly Sunday car boot sales which were the first ever to be held in south west Turkey, are organised by the Çalış Children’s charity (the 3C’s). The sales which now enter their sixth year attract both buyers and sellers from all over the area and have become a regular feature in the Çalış social calendar.
The sales are held in the car park next to the Bahar Hotel on Çalış seafront. The cost of a stall at the sale is 15TL which includes two tables whilst stocks last. The sale is from 8.00 to 2.00 pm with set up from 7.00 am.
Not only are the sales a hunting ground for bargains and a great social event but they are also a great way of fundraising with many local charities taking stalls to raise money for their good causes.
All of the money that the organisers, the 3C’s, raise from the stall hire fees (less the cost of hiring in the tables) together with the proceeds raised from the sale of donated items on their committee stall goes towards funding worthwhile projects to help children in the Calis/Fethiye educational area. Over the years the charity have funded many projects at local schools, rehabilitation centres, children’s clubs, orphanages and for individuals as well as funding a large number of annual bursaries to help local youngsters attend university.
If anyone has any unwanted items to dispose of but does not wish to have a stall the 3C’s would be very happy to take these off your hands and can collect them if required. Please ring 0536 373 9520. Donated goods can also be dropped off at the 3C’s charity shop at the Eyna Restaurant on Çalış seafront. The charity welcomes and can collect donations throughout the year.
The 3C’s charity shop will also be open from 10.00 am until 2.00 pm on Car Boot Sunday so if you do not find what you want at the car boot why not pop around the corner onto the promenade and have a browse in their shop where you will find a big selection of books and good quality clothing, shoes etc"

Forgot to say that the 3C's 2013 Charity calendar will be on sale at the 3C's stall on Sunday. For those who will not be able to make it they are also on sale in the 3C's charity shop at Eyna restaurant from today.

The weather is looking really good for Sunday's car boot sale - "Nice with plenty of sunshine - temperature of 82C" - so don't forget your hat and suncream ;)
