Has anybody used lastminute.com to book flights and are they reputable.

I've used them a few times and have had no problems. They're pretty well known . Google reviews
I would like to say to anyone DO NOT use fly.co.uk. They have VERY bad reviews and are actually German based and you cannot get email replies . I came across them by accident and luckily nothing untoward happened.

Agnes, thanks for that. Have now booked and for anyone looking for flights back to the UK in October it may be worthwhile to check out Turkish Airlines through Skyscanner, they are a good bit cheaper than Thomas Cook.
Just one more question. Am I correct in assuming that once our luggage has been checked in at Dalaman it will be transferred to our onward flight by Turkish Airways and we will not have to queue at check-in in Istanbul?

No, you won't have to pick up your luggage at Istanbul, it will be transferred through. You just need to make your way from the domestic terminal to the International terminal in Istanbul, a bit of a hike but well signposted and plenty of Turkish Airlines information desks.

Marggie - hi - I think my previous problem with this service is that it takes 16 hrs - from taking off at Dalaman so has that changed or are you happy to do that?

Ian, it must have changed as we depart Dalaman at 09:00, have 2hrs 30 mins in Istanbul and arrive in Manchester at 15:05.

having never used Turkish Airlines before am I right in thinking that they do not fly directly from Dalaman to Gatwick but you have to stop over at Istanbul, I am just curious for the future, thanks for any replies :)

Hi Karennina, yes it is an internal flight to Istanbul, then you go to international departures for the second leg of your journey. In our case we have 2hrs 30mins in Istanbul but as we've never used this route before, it gives us time to find our way around.

Turkish Airlines have changed winter flights from Istanbul to Dalaman.
Flights which were sold as departing at 20-45 are now leaving at 17-30.
If you were depending on that 20-45 time for a connection, I suggest you double check.

It seems to be November through February.

Think that is the norm in the winter months. I checked out March yesterday and it is the same.

Thank you Marggie i will bear that in mind for future trips, we keep saying we are going to go to Istanbul at some point so will come in handy if we do :)

Good value for anybody who wants to break their journey and stay overnight in Istanbul. Price includes luggage, in-flight meals and in-flight drinks. Much cheaper than any of the charter companies for October.

Just done Turkish Airlines Dalaman to Gatwick
no extras to pay and free drinks!!!!
IF you have Finnas Exclusive card you can use the vip lounge at Dalaman and Istanbul.

we flew manchester to istanbul in may then internal to dalaman .turkish airways were fantastic best flight for years , the internal flight well that was another matter but we got there in one piece ,so not to bad ,just a bit bumpy .
just booked easyjet through fly .co they took extra insurance out and some other charge cant remember now , but i phoned them up and all the extra charges were taken off we haven't got there yet though, but flights prices were not too bad , half term holidays £150 return or there abouts cheap compared to easyjets online page .
