If you have Turkish neighbours, ask them to call pest control for you.  Good luck

Hi Gary, I don't blame Ilknur for staying away! I don't want to sound alarmist but if it has a V shaped head it sounds like a young Ottoman Viper which isn't very nice (young or old. Previous advise to get expert pest control in, is definitely sound. Don't do it yourself!!

Gary where do you live?  OK I panic Reptiles yuk, last year I spent a week doing the garden, hours later I heard a rustle of stones by the balcony, when I looked over the side the neighbours young kitten had a snake and was playing with it, the snake hit the kitten 5 times and we never saw either again.
I had the screaming ad-dabs, I purchased a garden blower/sucker/shredder, now before I do the garden Gordon has to use the shredder to get rid and kill anything that will send me over the edge.

Please Gary where do you live, and please let me know that you have killed it.
(all you animal lovers out there I don't care; KILL IT)

I don't think you should tell your wife it has gone Gary, from a woman's point of view, I am the total same as you Loz and would not want to be anywhere near a place that I thought had a snake in it!
I am aware there are snakes in Turkey and we often stand at the river by the Pelin looking for water snakes of which we have seen a few,I dont mind them as they are in the river and I hope that is where their home is  :) made me realise we have to do something about the biggish gap we have under our front door in Turkey as I have always had thoughts that a snake could quite easily slither in! not really sure what we can do though.

oopps sorry Loz!! it took me a while to realise about the door, about three years ago my son came to Turkey with me for the first time, he was having a look round and casually announced he thought there was a dead snake at the bottom of my bed! I was too scared for ages to have a look and then I thought I am going to have to sort it out I stuck my head round the door and could see what he meant but thought it is not long enough to be a snake even if it was a baby one, anyway I shut the door on it and  slept in the  spare bed  that night as it was getting dark and i wanted to take a proper look round in the daylight, it turned out it was a millipede I took it to one of the restaurants where someone had kindly offered to come round and see what the dead thing was for us, it was pretty damn big and I have never seen one since out there dead or alive, but I have had several big cockroaches get in when the place has been closed up, on doing an inspection this is when we discovered the rather large gap under our front door, I was going to get some of that mastic stuff and try that but i suppose that would only be any good if I never wanted to open my front door again!  ;)

Loz, not wanting to alarm you, but last year we watched a snake slither out from under a roof and attack some birds that were nesting in the guttering. It did catch one but the bird managed to eventually get away, we then watched as the snake slithered down the wall and away in the garden.

I am awaiting that reply too, I really don't blame his wife for moving out, and if he says it is gone, I want the evidence.  Paranoia is setting in now.
