Title: Who will “Fix It” for me
Post by: Highlander on October 11, 2012, 22:12:57 PM

 :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ - that’s me blushing

I have never been any good at putting things together.  In fact, "totally useless" may be a more accurate description.  Meccano sets at Christmas and Woodworking Classes at school were the bane of my life.

As you may know from elsewhere nichola and toky kindly arranged for a beautiful lamp from Mozaic to be delivered to Brenda for her recent birthday.

Now that it has arrived safely, I need to fix the top to the shade.

Here are the parts. A – Nut, B – bolt, C – the finial which sits on the top,  D – the top and E – the spring.

If any member with or without a degree in engineering can explain in simple terms how to put it together, I would be very grateful.

Brenda is absolutely thrilled with the lamp - it's gorgeous. ;D

What may help H is if we knew what screws into what so does the nut (a) fit on the thread b & c. Does b screw into c?
Does the thread on b and c fit in the hole on e?
is there a thread in d? if not how big is the hole in d?

E goes under D
Secured underneath by A onto B
Secured above by C onto B

E goes into lamp (I guess as no lamp is shown)

Do I win £5
