Hi,
We are looking at coming out in February. However, the only way seems to be via Instanbul. There is only about an hour between flights into Instanbul and out to Dalaman with Pegasus and again on the way home. Is this enough time and do we need to collect cases at Istanbul?
Thank you
Nick

Should be enough time, you don't need to collect your cases, you do need to get your visa there though if you need one. It will be a rush though, is there not an alternative internal flight a hour or two later?

My daughter is flying via Istanbul with Pegasus in December. I was warned that there is not a lot of time to get your visa, but have been told that the airline will be aware and hold the connecting flight, but I am still anxious about it.
There is no info on the Pegasus website or Istanbul airport website and can only hope that se gets through ok. She has 90 minutes and I can inly hope that there aren't too many planes landing at the same time, so the queue isn't too long. Normally customers in transit get a prority clearance (separate transit lane) but I don't think that happens at Sabiha Gocken, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
If anyone has done the journey before, any usual info would be very welcome.

I have done that route a number of times in the past. You pick up both boarding cards either at Stansted on the way out or in Dalaman on the return leg, &, as someone has already mentioned, there's no need to collect luggage, as it's booked straight through.
Pegasus ground staff were at the arrival gate to lead us through the airport, but, a note of caution, they did expect that people would, as a minimum, power walk, so if your hand luggage is likely to be fairly heavy, make sure it has wheels! No there isn't a different lane for transit passengers at Sabiha Gocken
On arrival at Dalaman, you're bussed to the international terminal (so that is where you'll need to organise your transfer from) to collect luggage & yes duty free is open for last chance goodies

Like Liz says and others, I have also done this route before,
and the reverse to Stansted. Not a problem at all, even tho
I was aprehensive first time, esp as the first leg was delayed,
but the Istanbul to Dalaman leg was held till the remaining
passengers were on board.
As i'm sure you have done and for anyone else booking this
route, make sure you book it as one ticket Stansted to Dalaman.
I knew someone who booked both legs seperate, and had to
check in at Istanbul to get the boarding pass to Dalaman, and
of course, it was too late and they missed the flight.

I have done this route a few times did it this August no probs at all

Many thanks to Liz101, Col and Grahamturner, so useful to know that you have done it before and the flight was held. Also that passengers are bussed to the international terminal.
You have put my mind at rest, so I can now just look forward to Christmas with my daughter, instead of worrying!

friends of ours did the istanbul to stansted last week, they only had an hour between connecting flights and said it was all straightforward iand very easy.

It's easy if your flight to Istanbul is with Pegasus as well as your Istanbul to Dalaman flight. If your flight to Dalaman is with Pegasus but your flight from UK to Istanbul is with Turkish Airlines, you'll be at completely the wrong airport for your connecting flight ;)

Thanks for information everyone. On the return Dalaman to Stanstead do we need to go to International at Dalaman or domestic?

You need to go to domestic :)

Domestic it is Pauline & you need only check in an hour before the flight, so you get an extra hour at Lemon too!

In January I flew out for a few days as I was completing the sale on my property in Fethiye. Lots of people gave me advice on airport directions etc (it was via the new Istanbul airport). Pegasus staff were really good and the journey wasnt bad at all. On the way back I only had a 60min transfer time and my own plane arrived their 20 mins late so I had to leg it. I only took a carry on bag and at Sabiha Gökçen one of the Pegasus staff helped me to queue jump what was roughly a 45 min security queue. Cant speak more highly of them.

Thanks very much folks, think might give it a whirl in January! Pegasus look to be about the best I think, especially with the connections etc.
Thanks again
