Title: advice please
Post by: littlereddevil on October 24, 2012, 11:56:44 AM
If someone was selling an apartment and the prospective buyer asked for a copy of the tapu in advance to get a mortgage is this normal? ( Turkish people)
Is there any problem about giving someone a copy of a tapu before purchase?
Thankyou

They will be looking for a mortgage "in principle" - the bank will want to see exactly what they are proposing to buy. They can't get a mortgage on it while you still own it. If that were possible we'd have chaos  :)

Buddy if selling houses in Turkey was easy, they'd all be doing it. Oh hang on, they are.

When/if you give them a copy, make sure that you clearly mark it as a copy, especially if it's a colour copy.
