i have a couple of friends who moved back here from Turkey about a year ago.Their apartment is up for sale with an Estate agent in Fethiye Centrum. My daughter and her friend enjoyed a stay there in October. We were sitting here chatting last night and my daughters friend thanked my friends for letting them stay and mentioned that she had seen the apt up for sale in the Estate Agents window and the price it was.My friends asked was she sure of what price the Estate agent was asking because it appears to be a lot higher than they have been told it was being put up for sale for.
My friends have asked me to post to see if anyone was willing (if they are passing) to just have a look in the window to see if it was being offered at an inflated price. I will IM anyone willing to undertake this mission as to which Estate Agent it is, because my friends do not want to cast any aspersions on the company, on an open forum until they know the facts.
Many thanks in anticipation.

I am not in Turkey so couldn't help.
Do they have a website or email I would be willing to pose as buyer.
-
Website not working at the moment, but thanks for the offer.
-
Go on then. Private message me.
-
They inflate prices to pocket the difference and have a website that doesn't even work.
Please find out for me Mary. From all the agencies in Fethiye, they chose this one because...
-
Unfortunately, they had to move back to the U.K. because his wife was very ill.The Estate Agent was an acquaintence that they knew and he contacted them to ask if they were coming back to turkey, and if not could he sell their property. He asked them what they would accept for the Apt. He has recently set up in an office, and as yet the website is not working.

Mary, drop us a line. We live in central Fethiye.

Has he got power of Attorney to sell?

Has he got power of Attorney to sell?
No, Thank goodness. He asked for it,(said that he would take care of everything for them) but my friends said that if a buyer was found the husband would travel with POA from his wife, as she cannot travel.
-
Best thing they could do is get in touch with one of the recommended agencies on here. I'm sure buyers and sellers can help them choose.
-
Hi Mary62 I believe POA must be done in Turkey correct me if I am someone.
We recently done this in Turkey because it needs to translated and notorised
-
It can be done in the UK by a notary solicitor and sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for an apostille stamp. The notary will arrange that. Once it gets to Turkey it will need to be translated into Turkish and notorised.
-
Dare I ask what the price difference is?
-
Can be double or more in the UK - I've known roughly £170 up to £280. Also the time it takes is very different - half an hour in Turkey, half a month in the UK.
-
We needed a POA for some documents, solicitor emailed an English and Turkish translation of what was needed to be notarised. Made appointment to see notary at solicitors office on a Monday, completed all paperwork in 1/2 hour, notary then sent to fco to be certified, back at solicitors on Thursday to collect. Couirered (?) over to Turkey on Friday and arrived Fethiye following Wednesday, 10 days in total, hope info of some use.
