Title: Apple TV
Post by: bells on November 25, 2012, 10:23:22 AM
Has anyone got Apple TV in Turkey and does it give lots of English channels.  We have got one in England and was thinking of taking it to Turkey.

I bought one yesterday to bring over to Turkey, I thought that Apple TV projects your IPad content onto the TV rather than being a signal receiver ?

It does! You also get netflix and other services too.
I wouldn't think you get any tv channels unless you get a tv channel app for your ipad/ipod/iphone/pc.

Watching on mine now.. You need to have a jail broken apple tv2 to get all the extra content. But, if you have an iPad or iPhone or iPod touch4 gen you can stream via AirPlay to your Apple TV connected to your tv.
There are lots of instruction videos on YouTube .
For some content you need a VPN..
Good viewing.

I'm trying to get my Apple TV working and during the set up process it's telling me that I have to sign into my account to enable home sharing. When I try to do this on either my computer or IPad it fails unless I have the VPN enabled. Do I need to log the Apple TV box onto the VPN?

What generation model is it? Is it jail broken?
You have to have the iPad and the Apple TV working through the same router.
You then set up air play between them. You don't need your computer to do this.

Just want to say a big thanks to Barry who came round today and had my Apple TV up and running in about 5 minutes, really appreciated your help and thank heaven for CBF, without whom my Christmas present would be nothing more than a very neat looking black box.
