Very interesting screenshot of the Thomas Cook website H.
This topic however, is about Thomson.

My humble apologies - consider the medication increased.
Perhaps my error has been of some interest to ray 1951 :), although at £ 400 I doubt it. :(
-
I was hoping to see the "head in hands" photo. How disappointing.

:)

Much better, thank you :)

Oh I think my stupidity in this case warrants much more than a head in the hands

For the record, and I apologise for returning to the original topic(!), the prices this week have gone through the roof. The holiday companies think we are all sitting here now dreaming of holidays after Christmas. I was looking at a holiday on Saturday morning and it was £463 per person. I went down to the Thomson shop to see if they could better it and it had gone up £15 per person in the hour it took me to get there. It is currently £536 per person.... all increased since Saturday morning!

We have looked at flights only from Aberdeen (and even Glasgow) but they are coming up around £638.00 for the two of us in May/June and again in September. This is without all the extras i.e. suitcases etc.,
I cannot understand why these companies charge so much to fly from Scotland.
-
Its no better from Manchester, have been watching flight prices for my grandkids to come over to us in August but the prices are way too much.Ill be gutted if they dont drop them to a reasonable ammount as I refuse to pay the current rip off prices.
-
Perhaps when they all realise that their aircraft aren't full, they will get the message and reduce the costs. Having worked in the tourist industry for 12 years, I am well aware that ALL of them are greedy bar-stewrds!
-
I have a feeling that January/February is a time that Thomsons do not want to sell flights, they want to sell holidays. Every flight only seat booked can be one holiday no longer available. They will have committed to X number of hotel rooms for their packages and need the flights for those. So the prices are now prohibitive, but nearer the time they could well be cheaper.
-
Having worked for Thomson, people would be shocked at what they pay the hotels - a PITTANCE. They used to pay a 'commitment' of so much per bed times 180 days. Then it became 'allocation' for so many weeks at the start and end of each season. The hotels got a wee bit more for each bed, but only got paid for the beds actually occupied but they had 'commitment' for the high season beds. As the years went bye, most hotels now just get paid for the beds occupied but they still get a pittance and they are expected to upgrade and improve without assistance from the tour operators.
-
Prices are crazy this year just paid almost £700 for two of us for a week in May and £800 for a fortnight end July beginning August
-
By the way the only 3 that now fly from Newcastle are Fly Thomas Cook,Jet 2 and Thomsons with Thos Cook being cheapest by far.
-
The high prices are across the board. I was checking flights to Corfu and they are expensive as well. We do have 'power' IF we stand together and boycott them but we all need to stand together and as we all long to be in the sun, we end up coughing up and lining the pockets to the
GREEDY tour operators who have us over a barrel.
