That sounds good - hope it is successful and they have these nights in June when we are over.   We do miss a good curry.

I agree it looks pricy. I hope that we don't find people filling places at these prices and setting the bar high everywhere else.
We could go to Shine twice for this price and have a bigger choice.
Will be interesting to see if its a successful night, look forward to the reviews. I love a curry and would only be tempted if absolutely top notch.

£17 for three courses is expensive?

There were times in our 5 years there where I'd have paid anything for a real Indian  :)

All relative I suppose. Bambu were doing a similar deal last year for 22TL and Bostans an all you can eat curry night ( buffet style) for just 16TL and a real curry meal from the Shine works out a lot cheaper per head.
Personaly I wish them well, It's good to see some diversity.....

I agree (to a degree!) but although I had some most satisfactory evenings in Shine in Hisaronu, it's all a but Sharwoods and this is "Acclaimed chef Zai from Kashmir".

Assuming he isn't acclaimed for his Shepherd's Pie, it could be a bargain :D

Does the Shine have the ambiance and views of Shaka?  I think not.
I'm with Keith on this one, £17 is nothing for a decent meal be it curry or not

Will be very interested in the reviews, only been to Shaka once, Johns 'signature' Shaka burger was cold, and our friends spaghetti bolognese was like a child's portion and tasteless.
My seafood pasta though was lovely, but in light of the other problems I wouldn't gamble 100 for the 2 of us.
Have eaten at Shine many many times over the past10 years or more, never had a bad meal there, and no, not the same ambience and view but I do think places that trade on their location don't have to try as hard.
I also think one Chicken, one Lamb and one veggie option is very limited and not sure I like the sound of sweet carrot desert.
All personal opinion of course.

Its nice to see a bigger choice of foods coming to Fethiye tough. Yakamoz have recently introduced an Indian menu which sounds really good, haven't had the chance to try it yet though.

Who is Zai?
By whom has he been acclaimed?
Is he coming directly from Kashmir?
Has he worked elsewhere that any of us may know of?

As a restaurant we are thrilled to offer this night as a new experience for our customers.
We have the chef services of Zai as she is on a private visit here and has kindly agreed to put on this night for our customers who want some real Indian Food.  :D
She is a fully trained Indian Chef not a Turkish Chef cooking Indian so we are assured it will be a special experience. :P

On top of that CBF members can use their 10% discount every Weds through January and February, starting from that night  ;D
To use and get your discount you must book on the below number and mention the CBF discount when booking.
We are hoping that with very special food & good company it will turn out to be a very special evening. ;D

I too think 49 lira is a lot .. £17.... I wouldn't expect to pay that much for a curry in the UK never mind here.
And as already stated mine and a friends " house special burger " was cold , so don't think I want to spend any more money there.
 Shine for me thanks.

"Here" being a place with no Indian chefs at all and some of the most expensive meat in the World  :)

Linda & John, I did mention your problem to Osman, as I said I would.  He was very sorry you had a bad experience in the early days of the Shaka and would hope you will give them another try, but he understands if you decide not to.  He did say, and this is for everyone's information, please bring any problems to the attention of the manager on the night so they can have the opportunity of correcting things there and then.

It is in Hisaronu.

Faced with the choice of Hisaranou or the lovely position of the Shaka - I would go to the Shaka. Although it does appear that this curry night is a one off so we won't be able to try it in June - what a shame.

But remember you don't have a choice as such. This is a 'one off' type of event for Shaka I believe where as its Indian every night at Shine with it being an Indian restaurant.

Until these places get Indian chefs in them they will continue serving up not very good curries ,Turkish chefs should stick to Turkish food ,they cant cook English the way English do,but there again Turkish food is best cooked by Turkish cooks ,chefs well maybe large Istanbul hotels
not in the holiday resorts. :(

40tl is expensive if it turns out to be no better than say shine but would be a bargain if it turns out to be as good as say Benares (michelin star restaurant in London)

All relative I think. I look forward to the reviews.

They have an indian chef at the Yacht Boutique Hotel..and do a selection of Indian curries.

We haven't tried one ourselves as we enjoy Turkish food while we are there- but they do smell lovely as they go past.

Why not start a separate subject as this subject is about the Shaka so a post about another restaurant will be lost here...
