You might not want to hear this if you are suffering all the bad weather in the UK, but the weather today in Calis has been fantastic. ;D ;D Bright and very sunny, with the temperatures in the sun reaching almost 70, without a cloud in the sky. And with the day being so bright and clear, the views over the hills and snow covered mountains are nothing less than stunning.
Mrs Tickets and myself walked down to Boxers exercise class at the Haan Hotel, and it was such a joy to be outside in the sun, that we didn't even feel the usual pain and effort of undertaking exercise ... and my mate Mick agrees too ;)
So sorry if you are suffering with the snow and cold in the UK, but things here have been marvelous. :) :) ;

Always enjoyed your posts ubt................up till now. >:(

Actually I'm really happy to read this for two reasons. Firstly I find that it makes me smile to think of it as being warm and sunny over there and I can live vicariously through you and this message, so thank you for that. Secondly, and more importantly, do I remember correctly that this is your first winter living in Calis? I think I can remember reading posts from you last year about moving there and asking various questions. If I'm right then that's fantastic and I'm really happy that you're having a wonderful first winter there.
Do wish we could be there too mind you... ;D ;D ;D

Just about coping but spare a thought, I had to eat my bacon buttie this morning while wearing sunglasses, in January that's not normal !

Love that the HP label is "upside down"
-
On the plus side, we are up to pours knee in snow and I just got to eat 2 bowls of beef stew and dumplings that I made, without guilt because its snowing, yum yum. X :D
-
That was ours not pours by the way!!!
-
Bacon buttie?!! How did you manage that? ???
-
Fry bacon, put in between 2 slices of bread and walha, bacon butty (add sauce to taste). These recipes are so hard sometimes ;) ;D

What a difference a day makes!Thunderstorms and high winds in Çalış this morning around midday!!!!!It was Baltic cycling home from the prom.Sky clearing a bit now but still more rain to come methinks!!!!!!

Highlander i you will find its the bottle upside down it.s one of the new type . ;)
-
Its an Australian HP sauce bottle .... simples
-
Now here's the question, did I have the bottle the right way up or upside down.
-
Me thinks you had it upside down!!!! The large lid is so you can stand the bottle "upright", then the sauce will pour out easily I think. ;D ;D ;D
-
Perhaps it depends on which deeply ingrained habit is the most difficult to abandon?
a) Stand the bottle on its bottom so it is stable;
b) Have the label the right way up so it is readable.
You can't satisfy both with this bottle. HP should be held responsible for whatever cognitive perplexity that this bottle causes.
-
On the supermarket shelves these bottles stand on the lid - so the label is the right way up. I noticed today they are doing small chunk Branston Pickle in these plastic wide top bottles. Ideal to bring out there with us.

Lovely place Grange over Sands, spent many happy weekends caravanning in Arnside and getting the train across to Grange. ;D A good few years since we last went, think it's time we made another visit. No caravanning this time though : :)
