Recently I have had a look at a couple of sites that offer different ways of looking at information and one of the ones recommended is the one from which the following link is taken, some very nice visuals here.

A quick look tells me we spend more on defence spending (if you include Trident) than on State pensions, Schools, Local government and police put together! If you click on the home button there are some other interesting examples.
