Just a thought - should we be taking a leaf out of Shop Man's book and making it not 2.3eight or 2.36nine but 2.36ten.

That is predictions to 3 decimal places to avoid a tie.

Perhaps we should find away for people to have the same number - afterall we don't want to restrict the number of people playing and gthere are bound top be people who want the same number.

I did suggest three decimal places earlier but I'm not sure coinmill runs to that.
Title: Re: Competition for Fun and Kids - Exchange Rate
Post by: bewva on February 23, 2013, 12:44:10 PM
I have just looked and Coinmill is 2 decimal places.
Yahoo Finance is to 3 so we could use that.
If thats the way to go I would sugest all guesses so far are taken to 3 decimal places by adding a zero to the end.

It's not my competition though so would need Scunner to change ruling if seen fit as he started it.   ;)

Agree H that we should not restrict bidders as they are few and far between, ie less than 2% of the readers of the topic. :(

Post by: Scunner on February 26, 2013, 09:09:07 AM
I have added all the guesses made while I was away to the list on the front page.

I will need another guess from 160606 - extra decimal places up to a maximum of four would be acceptable if someone has already taken your choice.

Can I say many thanks to everyone who has entered, I hope there will be more too   :)

3 more added, thanks for playing Colwyn, Nichola and SuzzPuss.

SuzzPuss, the only person dreaming of a 7 lira Efes. It only seems like yesterday it was 1.75 for a draught Tuborg at Anna Bar...

Just in case anyone wants to be puddantic, with the 4 decimal places we will now check the result at Yahoo Finance

...and whatever the big number is at the top when I screenshot it at midday will be the answer. If it was right now, Jim Fraser would have won because it is 2.7402. But it is not right now so he doesn't win. Yet.

pud·dan·tic
/puˈdantik/
Adjective
Of, or acting like a big pudding.
