Post by: lance on February 23, 2013, 15:46:18 PM
How long does it take now to get a tapu ,my friends are buying a place in calis and have been told that tapu only takes 2/3 weeks ,it used to be 3/6 months ,is the tapu applied for when you start proceedings or when all money has been paid .  :)

Don't know how long Lance but tapu is started as soon as you start procedings. In therory you pay the last payment as you take your tapu

2-3 weeks seems a bit optimistic Lance - it's much quicker these days but I think 6 weeks would be a fair estimate. As jackstee says, the process should start immediately you agree to buy the property and you get your tapu once the process is complete and all the money has been paid (or whatever the contract says regarding payment).

Just received mine.  Took 7 weeks from the time I gave the deposit.  Remaining money paid on the day I received the tapu.

Dont transfer ıt tıll they have Tapu.

The book of selling a property in Turkey, in it's entirety, is quoted above.

No "he'll pay half now and once the tapu is transferred he'll pay the rest" or any versions of that.

When the money is ready, go and sign it over and take the cash.
