I would like to send my friend in Turkey a birthday card and just wondered if anyone can tell me how long (approx) it usually takes to arrive from uk please.
-
If you make it a signed for letter then about 3 weeks.
If not - how long is a piece of string... ;)
-
I know
3 weeks, or never.
Definitely one or the other in my experience :)
-
Why not send an e card (electronic)

He not too good on the computer and I thought he would enjoy recieving a card through the post more, better get posting though as his birthday is just over 3 weeks away. Many thanks for your replies.

I have known post to arrive within 10 days, but it's a rarity. Depends on if, A - the postman is actually working this week. B - might be raining. C - he's in a good/bad mood.

I'm going over in 3 weeks, if it's of help then I'm happy for you to mail it to me here in the UK & I'll deliver it for you, of course I'd have to find the address first & that would be no mean feat out there!

Thank you Supercabby, that is very kind of you but I see you are in Calis and my friend lives in Ovacik. It is quite a trek up the mountain and would not want to put you out but much appreciate the offer. Gill (Phills better half)

I think the postal service in Turkey operates "Turkish time" when operating post haste! Or perhaps the got it wrong in translation when switching to the "new" technology of "a cleft stick and a runner" and somehow adopted a cleft runner with a stick!
