I got quite excited for a mom this afternoon, when I saw the clothes shop. with a dodgy line in foreign exchange had closed down. Unfortunately, our little friend now has his own office just a couple of doors further towards Migros, between Ambar & the underwear shop. Unlike all the other bureaux de change, he doesn't have a board displaying rates, no suprise there then & he still hopefully shouted "change" in my general direction, despite heaven know how many times I have either been rude to him, or just blanked him

He Still has a go Liz does he not. what a T;;;;;R.
-
Maybe he got chucked out of the other place, the little charmer !!
-
A photo of the new place would be helpful if anyone can post it or send it to me to post. Ta.
-
there s a nice big fat photo on here of him somewhere, the sleaze!
-
Yes I know Amanda I posted it. I'm asking for a photo of his new place, not his old face
;)
-
well its still a good deterrent :)

How about a rogues picture gallery there seems to be more each year. Possibly pride of place to the money changer followed by the guy at the bottom run to the tombs.Sure you all could nominate your favourite.
-
I have the mugshots ready Dave - great minds etc :D
I am having problems with my broadband but I will be adding a rogues gallery this season.
-
Dont forget the young guy at the big mosque in Fethiye, can i show you ariund, yes please, at end can you make a donation for the restoration fund for the mosque, we need this and that doing.
-
The new office is little more than a cubby hole, just wide enough for a desk & I couldn't see any signage outside, apart from that advertising the offices etc on the floor above, so am not sure that a photo would be of much value. As I said, it's between the Ambar dress shop & the underwear shop

I think some photographs of all the local con men would be good for the newbies to the Forum so they don't get caught out.
-
Agreed Jacqui. But also as a reminder for us 'not so newbies' who only visit once a year and who sometimes forget who they've seen and where!! ???
-
"...all the local conmen"? Are there really that many?
-
When I write "All" that does not mean there are a lot, there are probably 3 or 4 that I know of, although I only have met one of them, so this calls for "all" in the sentence. ;)
I would add that the photgraph of another con man that has been on the Forum, has been useful to me because I know now to avoid him. :)
-
I passed by the cubby hole y'day & was horrified to see that there is now a sign over it "Raykin Emlak" Jeeees, I think anyone would be better off trusting the local barman / waiter with their house purchase
-
Should that not be Raykin Itinn ;)

I think anyone would be better off trusting the local barman / waiter with their house purchase
Unfortunately many do Liz :(

He has the exchange rates handwritten on a paper in the window. He never speaks to me now

This fine gentleman offered his 'change money' service to us yesterday and I did what I always do these days... Mumble nonsense to Steph then loud and clear CALIS BEACH FORUM while pointing at him.
Yesterday he shouted after me "Calis beach forum? Calis beach forum?" as we ignored him. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Especially as we were on our way to change money. From dick man to Dikmen in 30 seconds,

Yes! Great satisfaction, he never gives up does he, even tho we've always ignored him for years! Hey Keith & Steph, if you visit Shaka, give us a wave from the webcam? Have great time.
