Yes,I can see Cenk is held in very high regard by everyone, and I wouldn't dream of buying without going through a reputable Estate Agent. So it'll be off to see Cenk when we arrive. Looks like it'll be 10 days apartment hunting and 4 days holiday!! Happy Days   ;)  ;)

Sue, your only postings  on this Forum have been about this agency.  This is strange as you joined a while ago. ???
To explain to you as you are a new member, most people love to read recommendations from members who have posted on a wide variety of subjects. It give them confidence to act on recommendations, but if someone only posts on the same subject with the same recommendations members then do not feel comfortable with the postings.
So, hopefully you will join in with other discussions and recommendations in the future.  I am sure as a new property owner you will have lots to impart and recommend. ;D

I have an apartment in, hisaronu. Do you think Cenk would consider selling that for me or is it too far away for him? He has such a good reputation that I believe I would stand a better chance employing him to sell it that the estate agent I am using in, Hisaronu.

Hi I can only recommend  who I have used and been happy with
The post asked for recommendations so I gave my view. I am not on commission like another member asked back in January.
The first time I ever posted on here about ATP properties there were not nice comments don't know why?

I think maybe because you posted at the same time our regular "far too satisfied customer" posted their absolute and limitless delight with the same company - traced back to a computer in the ATP Properties office.

Never a good look.

I thought this forum was supposed to let other people know what experiences you have had or things that has happend or find out.
Every time I write something I get not very nice comments, I only answered the post with regards to recommendation.
Don't think I bother any more, what's the point
Title: Re: Sales Agent
Post by: Scunner on March 22, 2013, 13:38:29 PM
Sue there is no need to throw you toys out of the pram. Jacqui pointed out that you have only posted about the agent you used. That is fairly much the case. You later asked why the comments weren't positively received and I attempted to give a possible reason for that.

For someone who has obviously been to Turkey several/many times, people find it odd that you have no stories, tips or questions to share, just post after post praising an estate agent. People will generally view that as untypical behaviour on a discussion forum.

I purchased my apartment in dec and signed the deeds. I am home now in the UK.
I going back to turkey in April so I have nothing else to write about yet.

Well if you've only been to Turkey to purchase the property in December then obviously you won't have too  many stories to share.

Oh, how was Olu Deniz last July?

Hi
I've just joined today I am in turkey at the moment in ola deniz and are thinking of buying a property so need help if anybody has the experience

Yes ola deniz was lovely in July but I thought you didn't want to hear anymore about ATP properties ?

Title: Re: Sales Agent
Post by: Scunner on March 22, 2013, 14:55:52 PM
I don't. Believe it or not, I was suggesting that as you have been to Olu Deniz, you might have stories to share about your time in Olu Deniz. Did you think I mentioned your holiday in Olu Deniz because I wanted to hear more stories of love for ATP Properties.

How very odd.

Sue even if you are home in the U.K, you can still post in the "Nothing to do with Turkey" section just to keep in touch with everyone.
We have a property in Calis and come over a couple of times per year, so not in Calis all the time, but the Forum is great for getting and passing on information even stuff that's not about Turkey.
Just a tip.  When I read information about a new restaurant or good place to go or anything that looks interesting about the area  I copy and paste it and keep it on file in my computuer and then before we leave I print off all the information to bring with us.   ;)

Thanks for that jacqui, I will keep that in mind. As you know I am new to this forum and just finding my way. I am planning to go out in April to restaurants so will leave feedback
I am Sorry marka for answering your post its caused nothing but concern, for just answering the post and given my recommendation. I can't see anybody else getting comments like I am.

Nobody else comes here again and again just to post about their estate agent and nothing else!

Could that be why...

I am trying to help you see it, you clearly can't.

I can see the name cank keep getting mentioned on the first couple of pages. its only people giving there recommendations that's what marka asked for. Its something I have learnt from this as well.
It don't bother me the name cank was mentioned a lot why should it you.

It doesn't bother me at all that the name cank was mentioned a lot.

Even though it wasn't till you just did  ;)

Sue, When we bought our property in 2005. We thought there was no one like the agent that sold it to us. We praised them every chance we could and now feel sorry we did.  We have found out a lot of things since then that we do not like and regret all the fulsome praise we lavished on people we hardly knew.
Having been in the area for a while and getting to know a lot of things, if we every bought again we would use Cenk (not cank) as he is one of the good guys and has receive constant praise for years. I have never read a bad thing about him or his wife Olga.
As I have not used Cenk, only met him and his wife I am recommending him with no biase at all.   ;) :D

Jacqui that is a brilliant idea I make lists to take with me so I shall do what you do.... sorry I cant recommend an agent as I wish I had done far more research and looked at more properties and not listened to the lies from our agent saying the land behind our property was protected land and would never be built on, only to have a bloomin apartment block spring up there last year and block out my people watching from the balcony >:( I have just had the best laugh for a long time at the name Cank not in an unkind way dont know why but it has tickled me  :)

Several of us have recommended who we consider a good sales agent, how about those with not so good experiences naming and shaming, so that those new to buying can be aware of who to be cautious of.  :) :-\
Title: Re: Sales Agent

In ten years of CBF I have found that many people recommend the agent they used, but it is nearly impossible to get the ones that were ripped off, badly treated or threatened by an estate agent to come on here and tell their story.

Sadly that is the truth and sadly it is also quite understandable.

we weren't rilled off or anything like that, indeed we were given quite a lot of stuff free solar panels mossie nets and some other things as our agent was leaving the company, don't get me wrong we do love our little place in the sun but with hindsight we did not look at enough places and

oops did not mean to post  :)we have so much more knowledge now...
We were just so disappointed to see this apartment block spring up when we thought the land would never be built on, it is also happening at the front as well, I loved getting up in the morning opening my front door to the gorgeous sunshine and seeing a couple of cows munching on the grass sadly we will lose that sight as well this year :(

Karen I wonder what the total number of people is, who were told "..and that area can never be built on". Thousands I would imagine.

Post by: Karennina on March 24, 2013, 12:43:43 PM
yes I think you are spot on there...Looking back we were very naive wanted a place there and then ready for the following season and had no idea of this forum's exsitence but hey ho you live and learn, I have been thinking a lot of late now our five years have passed re the capital gains thing about looking for another apartment but hubby is very much better the devil you know and at the end of the day we have had some wonderful times at our place, I am just gutted about losing two of the things that were important factors when we purchased, the outside was as important to me as the inside  :)  but to be honest when we are out and about there does not seem to be much land left without property going up on it....

As a newbie to this forum I have really enjoyed reading the posts relating to this topic. We have been coming to Calis on holiday twice a year for the last 3 years, and only now have been able to consider buying a property here. Without all these invaluable comments posted regarding buying here,it could turn out to be an absolute minefield.I now feel in safe hands and look forward to viewing as many properties as I can in the time I am over, and using a well recommended estate agent. Thanks all.... :D

I totally agree karen, we were also very naive and 5 /6 years down the line thank our lucky stars we bought where we did and with an agent who was trustworthy. it could quite easily have turned out very different, there for the grace of god and all that.
