I recall seeing a post about having to have a blank page or something like that for your visa stamp on entering Turkey,is this correct and what happens if you get there and you dont ?

Yes it is true, think it was on the Consulate Website. Knowing Turkey they will probably still let you in but charge you twice for having 2 stamps on one page lol.

And just to prove a point, when I came over in January I presented my passport open at an empty page. The clerk ignored that and stuck the new visa sticker below another one on a previous page.

same as kkob we presented new page in istanbul and they turned the page and put it above a
previous one, but then i have bought 4 visas in the past year to!
