Title: Turkish bath
Post by: Karennina on April 01, 2013, 12:58:05 PM
Does anyone know please if the Turkish bath in Fethiye is open in April and if so how much to expect to pay (not the one that is at a hotel)think it is like a proper old building, also whether it has male or female staff, reason I ask is I know at some places they seem quite keen to take your top off and I so do not want that to happen to me!!! :o also would rather know a rough price to pay so we do not get ripped off, my days of having that happen to us are well and truly over  ;) thanks for any advice..

It's the 'Industrial Area' opposite the Otogar.

If you were to walk out of the Otogar, you have the restaurants / lokantas in front of you. Turn right and then turn left before crossing over the canal. Walk along this road, keeping the canal on your right, and the Hamam is about 200 yards along on the left.

According to Selma at Melodi Restaurant in Fethiye, there is/was a 'Ladys' only Day' at the Kaya Hamam in the Saniye. Enjoy.

I think the Sultan Hamam in Calis is open all year and have a couple of female masseuse, have used it several times and can recommend the Turkish bath and the full body massage. My wife had to ask for a female masseuse one time but it was not a problem.

thank you Gordon and Buddy, I wont go in the Sultan place again twice I have been in and asked for something to be done (a pedicure) and last year you would have thought I had asked for a trip to the moon or something with their reaction, there were two girls on the desk and they were really laughing as I left and I know it was something to do with me as I picked out the word pedicure amongst their laughter so I decided last year that was it I am not going in there again as I felt really stupid, shame as when it first opened I had a pedicure there and it was really good, I am hoping the Nevada Su will be open for me to have one there
many thanks for all the replies though....  :)
