Title: Want a decorative bird???
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on April 04, 2013, 13:54:36 PM
Went to Lidl's this morning and they had large metal birds to put in the garden for only £9.99. As the fake heron we have near our pond is just about done (with all the bad weather)  I bought a Heron.  I have to say it is better than I expected it to be and even has moving wings (they have springs underneath).  I think I paid around £18.00 for the plastic heron we had previously, so this was a great bargain.  However, there are other birds available, but I bet they will sell out quickly.

Well, the pictures Lidl's used do not do them justice, there are a couple that are not good, but there are some that are. The Heron looks better than my previous one... However, judge for yourselves and if future go and have a look first before you dismiss them.  Even the real Mrs Bucket would like this bird.

It was only a joke Jacqui.  I have actually seen them and I didn't dismiss them. Lidl do some good deals and they look really lovely in your garden there. Bargain.   :)

No need for apologies.   :) I am really happy  with my Heron and was trying to be helpful for anyone with fish. Might have guessed I would get a tongue lashing..  ;)
Yes, I agree, the ducks, flamingoes, cockerels are just comical, but the Heron is good and is useful for me as we have a problem with real Herons around the pond.
However, as lots of people like garden gnomes etc., just watch the comical ones selling.
This post was tongue in cheek and really only meant for people who want a fake Heron.  ;)

I actually seriously "do" like your heron Jacquie. I also like your pond but could be a touch envious because I haven't got one!    :)
